Donald Trump: Thief and Tyrant

He’s the same old Donald.  A thief, a liar, and a tyrant. A bold statement to be sure but hear me out on this before you dismiss my accusations. Let us look at a few factual things before the Trumpeters start blowing their horns.

First, as they always do, candidates have music playing at their rallies as they take the stage. The choice of the music is intended to rev up the crowd and get everything off to a great start. There are two ways to get the kind of music you want to use: one is to hire good song writers to write music for the campaign a la Bill Clinton in 1982; or, you select from popular music and get permission from the artists to use it on the campaign tour. Well, actually there is a third way to get the music, use it without permission, which is basically theft of intellectual properties.

The Trump organization has been called out for using music without permission by Elton John, Adele, Twisted Sister, REM, Neil Young, and the Rolling Stones. While the GOP was bright enough to license the music for use at the arena during the convention, Trump apparently felt that he was above such a trifle matter.

Next, we have the speech of his current wife. I say current wife because this is wife number three. Somewhat odd since he is running on behalf of the party of family values which, I am sure approves of him having his second wife as a mistress while still married to his first wife.

I digress. Her speech contained plagiarized passages from the speech given by Michelle Obama at the 2008 Democratic convention. Now, some of you may not have that much concern over plagiarizing but it is still theft of intellectual property. Stealing the ideas and/or wording of another for one’s own use and purposes is theft, pure and simple. It is grounds for students to be expelled from any reputable college anywhere in the world.

Sadly, I would say that the speech writer should have been publicly fired but it has been revealed that the plagiarized passages were not in the speech he wrote and gave to the Trump organization. So, who is to blame? One would think that surely that Trump would stand up and at least apologize for the mistake, if it was a mistake and not intentional. But, then one must remember that The Donald never makes mistakes, or at least never admits to them, and never, ever apologizes for them. So, his campaign tries to spin it as a Clinton against women thing and it was not plagiarized. Trust me. NBC, MSNBC, and CNN have played the tapes of both speeches side by side, word for word and it is in its truest form plagiarism.

The Donald himself has been caught in several outright lies, the most notable was one in which he denied calling in and pretending to be a publicist named Miller and bragging about himself to a news outlets. We know the denial was a lie because under oath in a court case he acknowledged that it was him. Even with that information he still lies about it.

Now to the present: Trump is conspiring with the Republican National Committee to simply run over the will of the delegates of the various states. For example, when Colorado and Alaska gave its votes to the the committee secretary to include in the count the secretary simply recorded all of the delegate votes for Trump.

It was a message of sorts that the vote of the people who sent the delegates to the convention does not matter. Although delegates tried to appeal the rules they were basically run over by the rules committee. In other words, screw you people! We, Trump and the RNC, will do as we wish. A tyrant and his minions rule the day. The question now is whether there will be a tyrant and his minions running our country?

Ohhhh, Bill, Bill, Bill. This is just the tip of the iceberg. You didn’t even touch on any of the really bad stuff. The intimidation campaigns, the tax dodges, the reputations destroyed, the money laundered. Trump is a monster in the classic sense of the word. His father was an old school Black Hand gangster in Brooklyn – a city known for its gangsters – and the apple doesn’t fall far.

I really do appreciate your article, but I just wish you’d have said more. Lord knows, there’s no shortage of Trump evils. He’ll keep us all, typing ’till our normal sized fingers bleed.
