Trump to reboot campaign by telling everyone the stuff they want to hear

Read Time:2 Minute, 9 Second

1_fullsizeDonald Trump will be giving an economic themed speech today that will lay out his plans for tax cuts for the wealthiest among us. As well as a moratorium on new regulations and elimination of inheritance taxes. These things will excite the rich folks. That’s good since with all the pressures of being rich they need extra titillation.

While moratoriums on regulation is a winner with the rest of the republican base of bigots, religious zealots and unthinking, deluded fools that blame everything on too much government and President Obama, the kicker for them is Trump will propose fully deductible child care. That so many can’t afford child care doesn’t matter since this sounds good.

Some of this may be in answer to Never Trump guys coming up with a candidate as an alternative for republicans to vote for rather than Hillary. I have to admire their effort to keep the party pure rather than just tell fellow republicans either not vote or vote for Hillary.

Memories among the general public are short. It’s why we republicans constantly have to remind the public of stuff we’ve made up about Hillary or President Obama to keep them from forgetting stuff we’ve made up about them. And this is useful since a day or two after Trump says something ignorant or false, which is actually pretty much all the time, the public forgets and any drop in his poll numbers rises back up.

As usual, any policy Trump proposes will be paid for with tax cuts in true republican fashion. You’re never wrong to propose a tax cut. We can blame deficits caused by them on Democrats and welfare moochers whom you’re never wrong to blame stuff on also.

MadMike likes posting poll results about how good the odds of a Hillary victory are. While entertaining, just like in the style of telling the peanut gallery the crap they want to hear, they are meaningless. Trump is in phase two of his campaign.

Producing meaningless policy stuff in which anyone can find something to like.  Once the Khan debacle goes away Trump will wrap himself in the Flag and surround himself with any Veterans he can find that are still willing to be seen with him. As Karl Rove showed, you don’t need a landslide. Just 50% plus 0ne.

And a Country that voted for George W. Bush twice, still thinks of Reagan as a great man and visionary despite the carnage Reaganomics caused and still causes to this day, 50% plus one doesn’t sound that far out of reach for Donald Trump.

You make some really good points Joe and a lot of it is true. Al though Trump has been fighting with himself for much of this campaign he is still in the race. I cannot imagine that any other candidate in history could have stumbled over as many screw ups as Donald Trump has and even been in the distance in the rear view mirror of the other candidate. He has even given a Democrat who is perhaps one of the most disliked and distrusted in recent history the lead in a Southern state. The issue of Reaganomics that he is touting as being successful is an illusion that only idiots will believe which, of course, is the base of the Republican party. Trump has managed, so far, to do what the Democratic Party has failed to do over many years which is to completely trash the Republican Party and he has done it well.
