Unfortunately, the necessary action start early – now or earlier – for the next presidential election. Those third-party candidates can’t expect majority acceptance with no record at all! It’s sad but true that you have to play the game for a while in order to win the game ultimately! The Libertarian party and the Green party in the current race have no chance, partly because the candidates have not proven any understanding of politics or the nation. Of course, the same can be said for Donald Trump, but he has the advantage of being a total fruitcake! And none of the candidates seem to have any concern about science at all, although Bernie Sanders – with the exception of his stance on GMO’s – and Hillary Clinton seem to be willing to admit that science, and scientific knowledge, have a place. Anyway, despite the fact that I personally do not accept, categorically, any of the current candidates, in order to get one that I find more acceptable, I need to be more willing to actually BUILD a party. Building a party means more than just calling yourself a party and declaring that you believe in thus and such. In order to actually build a party, you need to get your party known by demonstrable candidates and beliefs. Until the candidates have a track record, they are not likely to go very far.
In order for the youth to get involved in the election itself, it needs to be made clear to them that:
A) It’s important to THEM
B) There is more involved than just going to the polls.
Until and unless that happens, they continue to be stuck with the Democratic/Republican dichotomy, of which the current Republican is an object of great fear!

I can’t blame our young folks. This election has brought out the worst in people.
