Ahead in 2017: Donald Trump-A Vindictive And Scary Commander-in-Chief

Read Time:1 Minute, 28 Second

Well it’s over, the annus horribilis of 2016, but the anus horribilis is still with us, and barring some kind of legal event that would interfere, he’s about to become President.

Like many of the investor class I worry about the economic consequences of an erratic president who will send a stock reeling by a 3AM tweet, and attempt to profit from it — who will send the economy reeling with unprecedented spending and borrowing and a president whose vindictive and paranoid tendencies make for a scary commander in chief.

Will some gross misconduct or conflict of interest result in impeachment? Don’t count on it. Justice is more selective than any private club. Hell, justice is a private club sometimes. No, I think he’s here until he quits.

I might speculate that at least we’ll have an end to the complaining about the economy, the idiotic statements about how we’re in a recession and it’s all Obama’s fault, but I don’t think so.

The current economic expansion and job growth are extraordinary no matter what your personal problems prompt you to believe. The current economic expansion is the fourth-longest in 150 years, and we create more jobs in a day than we created during the 8 Bush years in total, but I think this year is likely to be the end of it.

Will we recognize the error and will we repent? Don’t make me laugh. Just like the Bush recession, the coming one will also be the Obama recession and the Republicans will deal with it by smearing, libeling, slandering and lying and we will fall for it — once again — and use it to sell us more tyranny and suspension of liberty and so will it ever be, world without end.

Happy New Year.

Not me, Bruthah. Not me. I know who to blame, and believe me, I’ve already started. Just ask MadMike. I am the Trumpinator.

One year from this date the world will be a different place, much different, and I suspect it won’t be all to the good.

I agree. We simply can’t predict the man who likes to be, as he claims, unpredictable. Anything might happen, but it’s hard to see anything improving in a year from now, whether it’s the ADD con man or the Christian Dominion tyrant in charge.

It seems to be that any time we have a Republican congress and president, we have a recession and statistically we’ve had a near record expansion and may be due for one anyway. The only prediction I make is that if we have a recession or a more serious calamity, it will be Obama’s fault.

True, but I just always liked that line from Shakespeare, and, of course, Ray Bradbury who adopted it as a title for one of his many books.

It’s hard to even say “Happy New Year” isn’t it Glenn? I don’t think it will be either. Scary is what’s coming before we sing Auld Lang Syne again….
