America Will Soon Become A Friendless Banana Republic

Read Time:1 Minute, 30 Second

It occurred to me today, that part of what is so distressing for me, is the feeling of helplessness. I know what’s coming – I’m watching it unfold like an Ed Wood flick – but I know there’s nothing I can do about it. I’ve accepted that. I’ve told myself that my survival and the survival of my family is what’s important. I’ve told myself that I can’t let this destroy me. That I have to keep working, and just simply prepare for what is to be.

Every day I watch that insane Sociopath inch us one step closer to devastating war, the iron vice of Fascism, and the agony of economic depression. And as sure as I’m sitting here typing, all those things and much worse, loom the horizon.

America will become a friendless Banana Republic. America will alienate all her allies and surrender to all her enemies. Everything we have ever stood for as a People will be torn asunder. Privation, torture, poverty and mass murder will be what the world remembers of this once great nation. The Shining City on a Hill will closer resemble the Dresden of 1945.

My town and yours will be declared final fronts in the Total War, and 12-year-olds will be defending them.

The United Nations – a towering monument to our parents’ foresight – will be replaced by a racist monument to our new Pharaoh.

My only solace is knowing that WE are not alone. The Republicans and Trump supporters have their own “Night of the Long Knives” coming. Yes, you will come for me, but shortly thereafter, someone will come for you. It is always thus. So, Republican Fascists, just remember – be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

Steve Bannon replaces the Joint Chief on the NSC. Just unbelievable. America is gasping, and without the necessary life support, she will slowly die.

And every day, yesterday’s unspeakable horror recedes before a new, fresh and more offensive outrage. Now I find that the Joint Chief will have less authority and Steve Bannon more. And still they go on, oblivious in the Fox bubble. In the room they come and go talking of Killary. I’m beginning to hate this country for letting this happen, for being so easily misled, so gullible, so selfish, so addicted to the lies.

I was shocked by this irresponsible, reckless appointment. Steve Bannon? A certifiable lunatic, just like his boss.

I can’t, obviously, speak about American liberals / left wingers politically speaking, only British.

If, and it may be a big if, there is any similarity, the rise of the right in Britain and, indeed, Europe, is a direct response to the liberal/left agenda in Britain/Europe.

Perhaps it’s the same in America, perhaps not – you tell me.

Ordinary working people, primarily, who historically supported liberal/left ideals have swung to the right regardless of who the right are (Trump?)

They have done so as they believe, rightly in Britain and much of Europe, that the liberal/left have been so busy trying to create their version of a perfect world they left behind those who supported them the most – the ordinary working class.

The fact that the right (Trump?) will hurt them even more is lost on them.

The liberal/left in Britain/Europe let their core supporters down badly and we are witnessing knee jerk reactions all over the place.

It’s happened before in the 30’s.

The German people weren’t to blame for Hitler. His predecessors – primarily the liberal/left were perceived to have let ordinary people down.

Whether they did or not is not for me to say. Whether the liberal/left have today in Britain is certain. America? No idea but I suspect that is the common theme amongst Trump supporters.

If it isn’t then I’ve no idea. I just know it is in Blighty and Europe.

As much as they will never acknowledge or admit it. In Britain and Europe the liberal/left are repsonsible for the current swing to the right.

And no. I’m not a liberal hater. I just speak as I find and I know I’m right cause I’m living it here.

Ok. You’ve gone around the bend now old bean:

The German people weren’t to blame for Hitler. His predecessors – primarily the liberal/left were perceived to have let ordinary people down.

While it’s true Der Fuehrer never stood for election what’s not true is he wasn’t fully supported by the vast majority of the German people.
