Other than being 30 years old, I haven’t heard much in the way of actual criticism for the M9 Beretta. This is mature technology to say the least and there are few, if any significant differences. The M9 pr the Civilian M92 is hugely reliable, accurate, light and safe. So is the Sig, but if I’m not mistaken that pistol lacks the combination safety and de-cocking lever that eliminates the need to lower the hammer manually and makes the Beretta about as safe as an autoloading pistol can be. The Sig Sauer costs more though and being a cynic and a suspicious man, I would love to see the reasoning. Yes, the Beretta is a bit larger, but the Army doesn’t carry concealed weapons as far as I can tell. So is this change for the sake of change or what?
