Blood On the Wheels-January 19, 2017
A matter of hours now until the bandwagon, the juggernaut, the circus of horror rolls into view.
Cardboard and water paint and glue like a beggar in patched clothes, like a thing made in a junkyard from rusty pieces of abandoned failures pushed and pulled by clowns.
People once cheered for Wat the Tyler, Toussant L’Ouverture and they were much better men. Poets laureate once performed for presidents. Ours is a Mexican man and an angry one.

What would he say if he were invited to smile and cheer the crooks, the liars, the thugs and thieves: the wall builders and vengeance seekers who have no business with poets, but duct tape and cable ties and lawsuits.
Blood on the wheels and betrayal in the words and cheering in the street and Trump looking down like a vulture from a dead tree.

It’s crazy to trust revolutions and peasant revolutions are rather likely to fail disastrously, either instantly like the Peasant Revolution of 1381 or the haitian slave revolt a bit more slowly and agonizingly. Of course this one has characteristics of one but a peasant revolution led and financed by plutocrats and oligarchs. Is he or isn’t he? Only his his hairdresser knows for sure. Perhaps it’s a multiple personality thing, who knows.
