Donald Trump’s Potemkin Village

Read Time:42 Second

Have we been making a mistake in comparing Trump to Mussolini and Hitler when the Russian model of tyranny management is more appropriate?

I’m thinking Potemkin Village: a construction designed to deceive the viewer into seeing something normal while some horror lurks beneath.

Consider if you will, that reality show designed to make you think a news conference is going on, but the pretend leader is there to disparage reporters, undermine any credibility while much of the audience are paid actors who act like the laugh track in unfunny ’60s sitcoms to make Trump look like he’s making some point he isn’t making.

Remember those ads where the man in the white coat says: I’m not a doctor, I just play one on TV? It looked just like a news conference, didn’t it?

The false Image I was thinking of is the image of Trump the reformer, the outsider from politics, the incorruptible guy who doesn’t need anyone’s money. It couldn’t be further from the truth. He’s hiding a great deal that would easily have sunk any other candidate at any other time.

That’s what I think of as well. Trumkin’s Village.

Impeach.

I don’t see that happening, at least not right away or even in the first year. The republicans need him to sign bills that no sane president would ever sign. Once he has outlasted his usefulness, and remains only as a dangerous embarrassment to the party they might work to impeach.

Citizens must call on their representatives to do this. They all want to be re-elected and they serve at the pleasure of the populace. Time to kick ass and take names. Drumpf is a danger to the US and the world.

I certainly don’t disagree there. I have started to call my reps about once a week, not that it has done any good. Regardless I won’t give up.

“Never give up” is the key phrase for Drumpf despisers.
