Trump Transition Team Fails To Vet Cabinet Appointments
(NEWSER) – “We seem to have lost contact with the Trump-Pence transition since the election,” Walter Shaub wrote in an email to Trump aides in November, CNBC reports.
The email from the director of the nonpartisan Office of Government Ethics was made public Saturday amid growing concerns about what Shaub says are “potentially unknown or unresolved ethical issues” with Trump’s cabinet choices, according to Politico.
The Trump team failed to clear any of his cabinet nominees with the OGE prior to announcing them, which Shaub says has forced staff to “rush through these important reviews” meant to help cabinet appointees avoid potentially criminal conflicts of interest when they start work.
A whole bunch of Trump’s nominees are scheduled for confirmation hearings in the next two weeks, and Shaub warns many won’t have undergone ethics reviews by that time.
He says he’s unaware of this ever happening before and warns it could lead to both “embarrassment” for Trump and appointees accidentally breaking federal rules. “If we don’t get involved early to prevent problems, we won’t be able to help them after the fact,” he says.
The DNC wants the hearings delayed, the Hill reports. Sen. Charles Schumer calls the confirmation schedule “unprecedented” and Trump’s nominees “unvetted.”
The American people deserve to know that these cabinet nominees…[are] working on behalf of the American people and not their own bottom line,” Schumer says.

Cluster fuck and circle jerk – new hallmarks of the self-gratifying Drumpf administration.. I think everyone should refer to this asshole by his original family name – Drumpf – has a more appropriate ring to it, I believe.
While in the Marines we had a saying for what is about to become our government. The term was used by Clint Eastwood in his movie “Heartbreak Ridge”. A general ask Eastwood’s character what he thought of a particular activity run by an incompetent major. He answered, “It was a Cluster Fuck, Sir.” That is going to be the United States of America in a few days. We will be run like a banana republic albeit, a very large one. Everything that Trump promised people he had no idea how to get done and now he is just saying do it and everyone is sticking their fingers in their noses and saying, “Ah, OK”. The problem that they have run into is like Chuck Schumer said. “They were like a dog chasing a bus. Now that they caught it they don’t know what to do with it.” The Repubs now have the chance to repeal Obama care but suddenly, there is a problem. It is a little more complicated than that. There were a lot of Trump supporters that were on ACA and liked it. 20 million people are signed up for ACA and that doesn’t count all the members of their families. Could the Republicans withstand the backlash if they just jerked healthcare insurance away from 20 million people with no replacement. That might be a bridge too far. Also, now Trump wants Americans to pay for his wall and bill Mexico for it. Uh huh, yeah, that’s going to work. Plus, all of his nominees have issues with their ethics and conflicts because they were not vetted prior to appointment. Plagiarism, racism, anti women, and overly friendly with our enemies.
Now do I think the Republican senate will get them through the nomination process? It will be messy, but sure they will and then the real fun begins. This will be the administration with more scandals than any in the history of the world and I predict that the first one will be by The Donald himself. I just have not figured out if it will be over money or over inappropriate touching of a female by him. You know, grab them by their … well whatever.
Yup, Drumpf the incompetent amateur president. We are well and truly f*cked until the impeachment and then we’ll be well and truly f*cked by Pence.
Can’t say I disagree P.L. Fucked. And not in a good way.
