Praising Fox News and Herr Trump: What Is ‘Morning Joe’ Thinking?

Read Time:2 Minute, 26 Second

Dr Mark Bear

As I sit here watching Joe Scarborough extol praise upon Fox News, going so far as to say that the reason #45 is in office is due to late night talk show host’s mocking Fox News, making liberals smug, leads me to puke!

Let me be clear: Joe’s attempt – along with the rest of the panel – trying to separate Bill O’Reilly’s behavior of the supposed last two weeks, and the “cultural impact” Fox has had on its viewers – while perhaps legitimate, is also bogus at the same time. Here is why:

Bill O’Reilly has been a fixture of Fox News for the past twenty years. Roger Ailes has been a part of Fox News for several more years than that. Yet, the culture which exists(ed) at Fox prevails. Disinformation, half-truths, lies, and what can only be described as outright propaganda, specifically when it pertained to our last President, is disgusting. That Bill O’Reilly and Ailes were sexually abusing other women at the workplace, makes the situation all the worse.

Books have been written about the impact Fox News has had on culture and nearly every expert indicates that Fox – while it is the source of conservative information par excellence – is deceptive. It is biased. Now, one can argue that all media is biased and one would be correct, but at least the other networks do not LIE about the man occupying the highest office in the land, unless of course, you count Joe Scarborough who curiously continues to find every exception for #45’s credibility deficit, not only with this nation, but across the globe.

Take a look at the Aircraft Carrier Carl Vinson’s group, and their supposed location last week – a topic I will be addressing in article form later today – and one cannot escape the reality that the current administration does NOT have grown ups in the room because they all LIED about the location of that battle group. Never mind how one in #45’s position does not reveal the position of a battle group, nor the accompanied threat each of those sailors were under due to the mis-information, and the concomitant increased tensions felt not only by Americans but people living in that part of the world.

So, when Joe Scarborough comes up with excuses for #45’s either blatant lie about such a serious issue, and states that “he (Joe) does not care what South Korea thinks about the debacle,” I say BULL! It matters! Again: #45 has ZERO credibility and it appears those in his Cabinet who are supposedly the “adults in the room,” are not really adults! THAT should be unsettling to even Joe, but it isn’t!

The key point however is this: Both O’Reilly and Ailes were accused of engaging in sexual affairs while at their jobs. O’Reilly and Ailes are both fired, but it was Fox’s culture that allowed this behavior to take place.

tRump is embarrassing to our Great Country. It is his turn to be “fired” When will we begin impeachment. There is so much eveidence to prove he should be.
Ex: conflict of interest, stupidity, he is axis of evil, dictatorship.

Herr Trump is a dangerous man, one most likely to involve us in a nuclear war since the Truman era. People say his generals will advise against such action. They won’t. They are generals, and war is their red meat.

Glad O’Reilly is gone. I did not know him, did not watch him. The few tidbits I had seen kept me away. He is a slime ball and every time another slime ball is taken down a bell rings and an angel gets her wings!!
But tRump’s lie about the Aircraft Carrier group’s location last week was nothing less than an outright lie. I talked to many people who were on edge because of that situation, wondering what might happen. South Korea was certainly on edge. I have said many times, would we or could we trust tRump if he said we were under attack and needed to strike first? He cannot be believed. He lies, he does not understand the complex relationships that exist with other Countries, and he is not trustworthy. His cares only about tRump and money.
He needs to be stopped. He has proven over and over that he is not capable of governing our Country!!

I agree with most of your respondents….I watch Morning Joe from time to time and from his comments it is obvious that he is Republican which ordinarily is not a disqualification for my viewing the show. However, I like a panel show that gives everyone a chance to voice there opinions and it is very difficult to discern what is being said when the interviewer is talking over his own interviewees. I think it would be a better show if they dropped Joe and just used the young lady who plays his side kick. I think she seems to be more stable and professional in her approach.
No disrespect to Joe is intended..just an honest opinion.

Token republican on an otherwise liberal network. But from now on our current President’s name I will try to forget. I will forevermore refer to him as #45. thank you. Mental survival is important

Mark, you are right on target. Joe Scarborough has an air of arrogance about him and his perceived correctness on everything that irks me. Why he continues on MSNBC mystifies me. I think the show runs well without him. He has the obnoxious habit, much the same as Chris Matthews of talking over his guests and anyone else in the room. I much prefer the style of Rachel Maddow, Wolf Blitzer, or Chris Hayes. or even Erin Burnett to either of them. Fortunately , I am usually not awake for Scarborough but sadly I was this morning.

I can’t abide the guy. He’s smarmy and arrogant, and no matter how he tries to hide it, is hardly fair and balanced in his reporting. He’s a republican through and through.
