Truth Is Always the First Casualty Of War

Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

by Glenn R. Geist

Think about six old men in an upstairs room, talking about investment opportunities. “Don’t invest in Uranium mining,” says a big retired airline pilot. “Hillary gave 20% of all our uranium to the Russians”

That’a bit odd seeing, as Secretary of State, Mrs Clinton never had that kind of power, and the export of Uranium would be illegal anyway, but I’m not sure the Republicans think that clearly. Some fake news source like Breitbart must have said it and that’s enough for Trump to have made a huge campaign issue of it. These guys watch Fox, and that’s enough to make Russia’s purchase of a stake in a CANADIAN mining company into something it never was.

Confirmation bias is a term that’s making it’s rounds these days and there’s the reason. Their tribe says it — and that’s enough. It feels good, so I believe it. It harms people I hate so I believe it.

Perhaps it’s a related bit of Hillary Hysteria that the story is circulating that Hillary ordered then-FBI Director Robert Mueller to deliver highly enriched uranium to the Russians in a secret meeting in 2009. Of course it’s become important for the Junta to smear Mueller as well as Hillary Clinton so this one is a double barreled lie.

Mueller did, in fact, give a 10 gram sample of highly enriched uranium confiscated from smugglers in Georgia to Russian authorities for forensic examination in 2009. Ten grams is the weight of two pennies, only much smaller since Uranium is much heavier than copper. a chunk the size of a pea does not a weapon make, but belief is a weapon. and a dirty bomb it is.

Arthur Ponsonby said “truth is always the first casualty of war” and a Republican administration is always a war, or has been at least since Nixon. Which side are you on?

The difference, primarily, between the Republicans and the Democrats is that the Democrats tend to think rationally and logically most of the time. Their passion is not to beat the Republicans at every turn, on every issue, and every candidate with any means necessary. To the Republicans the scorched earth policy is S.O.P. That is one of the reasons that the democrats often lose elections they should win. Glenn is perfectly correct when says, or implies that the Republicans are always beating their war drums. The Democrats would like to actually have a life that isn’t trying to grind someone into the ground once in a while.

I agree with Marley. Their uranium nonsense is as sound as the moon landing was filmed on a backlot of Universal Studios, and George Bush flew one of the planes into the WTC and miraculously survived because he knows secret stuff. Then there’s the whole JFK was killed by LBJ nonsense. It’s just crazy stuff!

Of all the crazy shit the republicans have come up with the uranium craziness takes the proverbial cake.
