Why Donald Trump’s Ignorance Of Climate Change Will Have Devastating Consequences

Read Time:1 Minute, 30 Second

by Michael John Scott

Donald Trump and his ship of fools don’t believe in climate change, despite the fact that virtually every country in the world is instituting policies to mitigate it. One of the few exceptions: the USA. Since Trump took office, he is actually dumping regulations enacted by President Obama to help curb the potentially devastating effects of a warming climate, and even withdraw from the worldwide body formed to address this growing and inevitable crisis.

Climate change, as we know, causes sea level rises, changing weather, stronger and more frequent storms, and etc. What most of us don’t know are those ‘other’ things it causes which often ‘fly’ under the radar.

Check out this snippet from a New York Times story:

“In recent days, American Airlines has been forced to cancel more than 40 flights in Phoenix. The reason: With daytime highs hovering around 120 degrees, it was simply too hot for some smaller jets to take off. Hotter air is thinner air, which makes it more difficult — and sometimes impossible — for planes to generate enough lift.

“As the global climate changes, disruptions like these are likely to become more frequent, researchers say, potentially making air travel costlier and less predictable with a greater risk of injury to travelers from increased turbulence.”

As long as Trump occupies the Oval Office, the United States will be a contributor to global warming, and all of will be affected in ways we can’t possibly imagine, especially the young, who, in just a few years, will reach adulthood in a world that will be unrecognizable. The congress needs to impeach Donald Trump before it’s too late. Sadly, I don’t believe they will, and their children and grandchildren will also grow up in an increasingly warmer and far more dangerous world.

One of the arguments for preserving nature in our park system was the preservation of hunting. Among the rural people I live with the opposition to selling off park land is strong – and they’re mostly Republicans.

The tragic irony about how President Donald Trump denies the serious environmental problem of global warming, wants to dismantle the E.P.A., is opposed to the development of renewable energy, and the many other ways the Trump Administration is dangerous for the environment, is Trump’s own sons are hunters. This is because hunters, of all people, must oppose the anti-environmental policies of the Trump Administration. After all, if the environment is destroyed beyond repair, it will not be the anti-hunting animal rights movement, like P.E.T.A. or Friends of Animals, who will be responsible for making hunting impossible, and a thing of the past, in the future!

It’s not just Trump, it’s his republican allies, many of whom share his byzantine views, and until the ocean is lapping at their doors they will never accept the science.

It’s shocking that in this day and age, a world leader actually denies climate change, and chalks up the phenomenon to “just weather.”
