Scott Brown wins Massachusetts Senate seat

scott brown

In a surprising upset the Associated Press has declared Scott Brown the winner of the Massachusetts senate race. Brown defeated Martha Coakley handily, but not by a double digit margin, much to the chagrin of the Right wing pundits. Brown won by a 5 point margin.

Insiders say that Coakley ran a lackluster campaign, making only 19 public appearances while Brown made 60 appearances. Confident of victory with a 20 point lead, Coakley took a literal vacation from December 19th to January 5th. She paid for her arrogance today with an historic loss.

Defeated by Scott Brown, Coakley seemed relieved

Curiously her concession speech was almost a celebration. It was clear that she was relieved by today’s result, nonetheless, she thanked the appropriate people, and promised to move on with her job as attorney general.

This is, in my opinion, another Democratic SNAFU. They assumed a win and realized a loss. One can only hope that they will learn from this Scott Brown experience, but I doubt it.

This time last year everything was in place for a revolution, but wait, November is a long way off. The Teabaggers will be hitting the Tetleys tonight.

I don’t think it was so much upset to the Bay Staters. But it’s going to separate the men from the boys (so to speak) in the Senate… don’t cha think? I wonder whats next? Don’t you? 🙂
