And the bright new colors of Spring begin to revive us… Hope returns.
What you don’t see or hear are the epitaphs and jeers or cheers from the wingnutters below these fellows. There was no grace amongst Republicans yesterday. Their flamboyant ignorance has been head turning, especially among the wing nut women…**sigh**. Karl Rove, the father of RatFricking, shouts at (why the hell do they keep putting this political criminal back on air?) David Plouffe … as if screeching lies substitutes as ‘fact’. This has been the overwhelming strategy for defeating the HCR bill… lie yo’ ass off! The lies and deliberate cruelty toward polarized groups of the elderly, the handicapped and veterans, in a complex of attempts to ensure opposition, have been so morally degenerate and obviously rooted in greed for corporate payola and privatized money … America is left dazed under the political hubris and debris of Republicans. Yet again. Most awful, stepping right past the town halls and the ongoing Faux News fueled lie machines, on the steps of the Capitol, our country’s legislators were assaulted by racial and personal epitaphs as they made their way into the House. One was spit on. Clearly, teabaggers are cruel, uneducated sort of people who are best companioned by the lying ilk of Republicans. While there is nothing wrong (and everything right) in healthy, respectful demonstration…in Ohio, the quintessential teabagger demonstration was recorded:

The Lady Liberal who kept the fires burning and who strategized so much of this bill’s passage deserves a large, sincere thank you from generations to come. I think it’s important to notice the difference here in photos… take a look at this supportive collective (above). Steny Hoyer’s hand clasping John’s … as if to say, ‘go ahead, hurl what you will at us. We are together, we are right, we are the compassionate, intelligence of the government. We are going to win. ‘
And win, they did!

For those of us sitting at home with MSNBC or C-span running throughout the day… those moments deep into the night close to the next morning were tense and stirring. The tweeting community was responding at breakneck speed… Facebook messaging was abundant. And then the brilliant moment came as we heard the Democratic Party on the House floor chanting;

Every Democrat, community activist, campaigner, supporter, blogger, hopeful, Independent…all who have worked towards, held the hope for a better society where the health of the community is more fully addressed; and while it is only a beginning place in the whole of the goal…

Go Barry! Credit where it is due. I have a sneaking suspicion he’s still an honest man doing his best – and winning here too!
Personally, I think he should alongside himself and do what he does and hold his head high and say “Screw what went before. I want to make a difference.”

In the final analysis yesterday was a great victory, despite the idiots, and there were a lot of them as you so aptly pointed out Gwen. Barack Obama will be able to walk alongside other presidents who set out to enact and oversee legislation designed to help the American people.
