WHEN IN DOUBT JUST SAY “ABORTION”

Read Time:1 Minute, 29 Second

John Boner and the Republicans, are, if nothing else, predictable. After President Obama tossed their silly arguments against health insurance reform back in their deluded faces, Senator Boner resorted to the tried and true right wing argument that this bill will mean more abortions. Boner said he was worried about abortions being paid for with taxpayer dollars. Like this pro torture clown really cares what taxpayer dollars are spent on.

The tragedy is that millions of religious zealots, a large part of the Republican base will seize on this straw-man argument to be against insurance for all Americans. These poor fools are so duped by the Republicans that babies and mothers with no health insurance are somehow exercising their inalienable God given rights to not have health insurance.

The abortion issue has long been the Republican’s “ace in the hole.” It has become so vital to the Republicans identity that although they wouldn’t admit it, in the know Republicans would consider it a tragedy if abortion were to become illegal. They know it blinds far too many to their real intentions of serving the wealthy and huge corporations.

Perhaps one day the religious right in our Nation will wake up and see the Republican Party for what it truly is. A con job of the highest magnitude. Maybe they will realize that the only “babies” the Republicans care about are the offshoots created by big businesses to shelter taxes, deny benefits to workers or create a money making opportunity for CEO’s at the expense of regular shareholders.

But then again, if these same people that think Ted Haggard’s homosexuality was “cured.” Or Oral Roberts talked to a 900 foot tall Jesus, these people will be ideological hostages to the Republicans for generations to come.

Maybe we need a 1000 foot Jesus to appear and say that abortions are OK. I think Tommy Chong is available to play the part and I am sure he has been that high before.

I appreciate Demeur’s points… and Truth, it’s a dead on post of the Republican demonstration. 🙂 They are real users, posers, hypocrits (that’s a rethug with a chicken beak and centipede legs) the better to peck and run.

Aw, well, the merlot is just ok, it’s ‘imagination’ tanin’s are off.

J-man,
you hit the nail on the head right there. They’ll use religious zealots for their own purposes;these zealots would be far better served by single-payer but are too ideologically bound to understand that.
good one man.

The Republicans are pandering to the branch of their caucus that is totally “one issue” overturning Roe v. Wade. They have to do it now and again to prove they are trying. No doubt they will try and paste onto the reconciliation bill and no doubt they will fail.

Demeur you make a great point!! Everything is about money. I have long been convinced that the Jesus Jumpers would change their tune if the churches were subsidized by abortion clinics.

I’m sure they’d change their tune if there were large corporations making obscene profits from abortions and providing them with lobby money. Insurance companies were pumping over $1 million a day to their coffers to stop health care reform.
