If Someone Tells You He is a Racist: BELIEVE IT.

Read Time:5 Minute, 18 Second

So this is what extremism Republican politics have wrought in the last year… This law, SB 1070 Arizona, makes it legal for law enforcement to racially profile and arbitrarily abuse the citizenry while doing so. It has been called the “Juan Crow Law.” Like my friend the famous TLH says, “When someone tells you that they are a racist, BELIEVE THEM”! Don’t be a bedrock Democrat. The good Republican actually believes the tripe and folly and greedy nasty. Democratic politicians make the awful mistake of thinking Republicans can’t possibly believe their rhetoric… but they do.

The GOP is attempting the largest political folly in American history.

It once took the Democrats a complete about face in party idealism and almost a century to overcome the Civil War. (Funny that! Isn’t it essentially the same demographic as today’s GOP?) In the past two years, Republicans have crystallized their disgust for “big government” (codeword for African American president) by using every unethical strategy that they might in order to keep you from electing a black president: using any underhanded trick possible to block the passage of a health care reform that will establish decent quality of life care at a reasonable rate without fear of being dropped from your insurance company if you become ill. They were paid nicely to do it by big corporate insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and much of the general contracting medical business community in this country. They have suborned, plotted and funded hate and racism, taking money freely from the organizations behind phony grassroots efforts to give breath to this kind of racism, fear and hate messaging to obtain legislative goals. They have the compliance and assistance of Rupert Murdock’s MSM machine; most especially in the presence of Faux News; the heart of lying, thinly veiled racism, “gotcha” tactics of collecting film coverage, general meanness, hypocritical tripe and biggest nasties (what me prejudiced?) on cable.

Frankly I think of Fox News as a joke on the stupid. They keep people confused, misled, in states of disbelief and ensuring a continuation of baseless, fact-free debate that promises nothing but OPPOSITION… The Party of NO. Proudly taking strides to reintroduce intolerance, mistrust, fear and personal anguish among the citizens of the United States. The same folks who Wall Street has stripped of jobs, homes and the simple security of community and home. Where this kind of political debauchery was once the primary province of a few southern white male-dominant politicos rapidly giving way to a more balanced political presence in these territories, the back-road hidden enclaves of the KKK, the John Birch Society and like organizations have broadened their voice, reaching out from within the “Tea Party” movement and with a much louder volume than I can ever remember, from the heart of the Republican platform. While not all Tea Party enthusiasts or Republicans are filled with this bile… they are openly embracing it as a means to a political end. Shame on them! You can not misread or mishear the vile hatred or racism alive in the land at the spark of a dejected Republican Party.

The Party of NO will even tout themselves as such with conviction, thinking that it validates their bad behavior. It’s hard to understand that so many politicians are willing to embrace this madness. GOP big names have brunched, lunched and dined with Wall Street openly, neglecting to begin any kind of political process to initiate banking reform, all to ensure their corporately funded lifestyles and political careers. The “right side” of the Supreme Court has openly aligned with this! I think those Justices should be investigated! If intelligence were the common currency, this collection of assholes would be bankrupt!! But as most can see, they “want” for nothing… they are bought and paid for. Our country is regressing historically. And here’s the thing; I’ve begun to understand that this is not just a local or national problem.

The problem is INTOLERANCE… resulting in corruption and greed. Injustice. A global malaise affecting many “white societies” … [and to be fair, there are plenty of non-white societies globally, where worse is happening… but as I’m white myself, I’m keeping log of my own Ancestral kith and kin]. Take a look at the British National Party (or the BNP as it’s known abroad). Take a gander at the Brit version of a Tea Party:

The BNP has risen on the frustrations of the British, who are frightened and appalled at the blend into their society of “outlanders,” immigrants – a huge influx in the last ten years. If you’ve watched the video above, you are aware of the similarities of social cruelty between Britain and the U.S. Not all Brits who are upset with the influx of immigrants are such racists. But it’s the path they have chosen to walk. Make no mistake. I actually think American racists are more hedging and duplicitous than their British cousins. There is a large difference going on here as far as I can tell. Republican politicians are using race baiting and hate rhetoric to anchor their corporate sponsors and feed their greed. In the UK, it would seem that racism and establishing it rescinds and restricts what the BNP is vying for, because it leaves Britain without much needed infusion of EU capitol and a loss of workforce. A bit of Arizona to that… the BNP side of it. Nationalism is a huge issue over there right now.

My purpose is to expose the “sameness” of our world at this time. Each of us is challenged to demonstrate our personal integrity, I think. And people will be who they essentially are at heart… crisis brings out the gifts that we don’t even know we are holding. Intelligence is innately kind and generous, to be intelligent… to learn and grow… brings tolerance for one another. A fascination, curiosity for life, culture. A prosperity of mind intuitively established… I think… through the heart. It’s called Hope, much of the time. And it’s just my opinion. A blogger blogs opinion of the news. Usually. In exposing a small example of the sameness in what I consider to be a crisis of consciousness on the planet right now… I am doing my best to demonstrate who I am and what I think is right and good. Healthy. You following me here?

“A prosperity of mind intuitively established … I think… through the heart.” Awesome. Thanks Gwen.

Well said, Gwen. Tracing the roots of this law lead back to the eugenics movement, the foundation out of which European anti-semitism culminated in Auschwitz.

Holte, I’m confused by them, to be honest. But people are people everywhere… I’m trying to make that point… still, I’ve always felt so good in the UK, never nervous or ‘out of country’ actually. Pretty good for a good Irish gal, eh? To be true, the only country I’ve ever felt nervous or out of place in is Texas. and… I’ve been so many places….:-)

Try Oklahoma. The prevailing mentality around here will turn you into a narrow-minded moron or a philosopher. Actually there is not much difference between Oklahoma and Texas, culturally, except Texas has an Austin (a liberal, quirky city), and Oklahoma doesn’t. Austin’s pretty cool and fun.

Austin is a righteous town, I agree!

And btw… while we are mentioning Oklahoma, FUCK OKLAHOMA DOUBLE. All right? I’m so pissed at what they have pulled on women…

but other than that….LOL

Gwen, There are many an oasis in Texas and the people are for the most part friendly. This from the only owner of a 1 ton diesel flatbed dually that had a Clinton/Gore sticker and recently an Obama sticker in Kaufman County.
Texas while still pretty conservative is becoming bluer and bluer with every passing year. It is a tough slog but we are selling it hard and making head way. The crazier they get the easier it is.
The only place I can say I have felt uncomfortable was behind the Iron Curtain back when the curtain was still pulled. It wasn’t because of the people I met it was the guys with machine guns watching you all the time.

Actually BSRanch… I am so awful, I said TX jokingly. And I bow to your well meant loyalty. I am sure you speak the truth. Shame on me for condemning any whole state, city or etc. Exception this month would be OK. What that state has passed into law is insufferable. Ta for commenting.
