Texas Governor Perry Believes Obama is God’s Punishment-Proud to be in Anti-Obama Army

Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

I recently found yet another reason to hate Texans, but I won’t go into that right now.  Instead, read this story from Think Progress about the wacky Texas governor and members of the Texas leadership:

On Saturday, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) and several other elected officials boosted Fox News host Glenn Beck at an event at the Oil Palace in Tyler, TX. The day was full of right-wing flame-throwing, including Perry saying that he was “proud” to be in an “army” of anti-Obama Americans. Another prominent theme during the event was that the country has “drifted far away from its founding values”:

Gov. Rick Perry, U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Tyler, and state Rep. Leo Berman also spoke, all delivering similar messages.

Berman told the crowd, “I believe that Barack Obama is God’s punishment on us today, but in 2012, we are going to make Obama a one-term president.”

Gohmert said, “The longer we go, the more we see how important it is to stick with principles.”

Beck later stated that the U.S. Constitution was “divinely inspired” and our rights “come from God.” “If God is with us, who can possibly stand against us?” Beck asked. “The answer is no one.” On his radio show last week, Beck claimed that he was carrying out God’s “plan.” Berman, a Republican representing Tyler, controversially told Chinese-American immigration lawyer Harry Joe from Dallas to “go home” and “kiss my ass.” The exchange came when Joe criticized Berman’s proposal to require all undocumented immigrants to be relocated to self-designated “sanctuary cities.”

I honestly believe that Obama is a just divine punishment for a Nation gone mad with apostacy, idol worship, murder and child sacrifice.

Look at some of the evil Kings that ruled in Isreal and in the surrounding regions. They did what was EVIL and God gave them EVIL Rulers. They did what was EVIL and God destroyed them.

The sad fact is that there is very little difference between the ancient Baal and Molloch worshippers, the Caananites, the Hittites, the Amorites and our so-called Liberals today, except that our Libs murder over 3000 babies each and everyday. I seriously doubt that the Caananites sacrificed 3000 babies in a whole year! Our Liberals are 1000 x worse than the pagan peoples that God removed from the earth.

And child sacrifice is just one of many sins that the left is guilty of. There are literally too many to list in a post.

So I won’t take it personally if God uses thee Obama to destroy the United States. And who knows, out of the ashes, someday a Christian Nation could arise. But I’m sure I will be long gone before that happens…

oh and just to make myself clear. Thee Obama is not punishing me! He is punishing those who worshipped him as a Jesus figure who was going to ‘SAVE THEM’. The Liberals built Obama into an Idolatrous Golden Calf and now he will be their ruin

And I guess your Old Testament God wasn’t constantly smiting innocent children???

If Obama is a punishment from God, wouldn’t the proper response be to submit quietly? God doesn’t like it when people try to escape punishment.

(What exactly we’re all supposed to have done wrong that Obama is a punishment for, I don’t even want to worry about — anything Louie “demon invasion” Gohmert is involved in is probably too brain-scrambled to decipher.)

Holte, thanks for the list. I didn’t know most of those people are Texans. I’ve been to Texas and it’s not a bad place. But the nuts there are bigger and louder and they dominate the state’s image.

Everything IS bigger in Texas. Especially the nutcases. It is truly like another country. I would say we should let Mexico have it back, but then all the racist a-holes would move up to Oklahoma and then where would I be?

Molly Ivins, even though she was not a public official she was in the public eye. She happens to be one of my favorite writers. Jim Hightower is another I have read about only.

And Barbara Jordan. And, if it hadn’t been for Vietnam, LBJ. And although he wasn’t a huge favorite, John Connelley. Now wait, folks. He did more for education in that state than anyone, starting and growing the state university system to a very impressive size with a collection of top notch faculty members. And there’s always the Texas Observer who had the good sense to hire Ivins. Oh, and the love of my life. . .

Hey don’t hate Texans, Gubner Goodhair only got 39% of the vote 4 years ago. Hate Kinky Freidman who ran as an independent and siphoned away enough votes for the 39%er to win.
We will elect White this year and be done with this fool.
But just remember what happened the last time Texas finally got rid a fool of a Gubner. Y’all made him President.

“But just remember what happened the last time Texas finally got rid a fool of a Gubner. Y’all made him President.” LOL. I did my damnedest to prevent that inevitability, but a whole bunch of fellow Okies shot my vote dead.

Man, Republicans. Sometimes I think they are just not that smart and/or really pernicious.

I don’t think that is right to say that Republicans are uneducated or pernicious. I am a journalism student at UCO in Edmond, OK, and I, myself, am a Republican. I dare say that I am more educated than most of the college backsliders who call themselves Democrats and rarely research any of the cadidates they vote for and/or those candidates’ policies. Now us Republicans like to think of you liberals as people who endorse anything and everything, except for the principles that we believe in, whether religious, monetary, etc. I support carrying guns, I support pro-life efforts, and I am against gay marriage. This does not mean that I mudsling Obama. I do not support overspending. I do not support politicians in general, since all of them, especially Obama, formulate smooth and slippery speaches to feed the masses. From what I know of broadcasting and people, we are naturally drawn to the well-spoken and good-looking people. Will Obama’s wonderful speeches and good-looks deliver the promises he unwisely threw out to the gay/lesbian community? How about ending the war in Iraq? All just to pour more spending in Afghanistan right? The debt that the Bush administration began will certainly continue to rise at an exponential rate. What will our lack of logic do for us then? My own logic tells me that this nation (completely divided, hating the other part of itself, spedning more than it can afford) will not stand for much longer. As for me, I voted Brogdon as governor this afternoon. We’ll see if people are logical, or if they’ll go for the whole double standard liberal thing. Thanks.
