German Shepherd Dog Leads Alaska State Trooper To Fire (VIDEO)

Read Time:44 Second

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP)– A dash-cam video from the Alaska State Troopers shows a dog leading them through winding back roads to a blazing fire at his owners’ property.

The video on the troopers’ website shows the German shepherd running to meet the trooper’s vehicle, then racing to the house on Caswell Lakes on April 4.

Troopers say Buddy and his owner, 23-year-old Ben Heinrichs, were in the family workshop when a heater ignited chemicals. Heinrichs told Buddy: “We need to get help.”

The dog eventually found a trooper responding to a call about the fire.

The State Troopers are presenting a special award Friday to the dog. Buddy will receive an engraved silver-plated dog bowl in Anchorage.

Heinrichs suffered minor flash burns on his face. The workshop was destroyed, but only some window trim on the house was damaged.

See! Animals are what we should aspire to be! Marvellous stuff!!!

I think I’d be a bulldog. No idea why…;-)

And before you start, no! I would not be an Orangutan with a large red bottom!

The animals just sense things don’t they? I think this may be the reason I prefer animals to humans at times. I saw another story similar to this the other day. An elderly man with some form of dementia had wandered off, fallen in a ditch, and his dog sat there with him the whole time. Sadly, the old gentleman passed away, but that dog did not leave his side for a moment. My kitties are the same way. I have been having really bad pain days the last few, and the kitties are all over me doing little kitty massages and tongue baths to make me feel better. Gotta love those furry beings don’t you?
