Queen of Tea-Baggers Enjoys “Socialist” Life Style

Read Time:1 Minute, 59 Second

File this under all-together unsurprising hypocrisy: yet again, Tea Party darling Michele Bachmann has been found to be the beneficiary of “Socialist” largess.  Despite the Congresswoman’s rantings against “socialized medicine”, information from Minnesota’s Transperancy and Accountability Project shows her husband’s clinic has in fact been the recipient of nearly $30,000 in government money since 2007.

On the one hand, Ms Bachmann talks a mean streak about the dangers of socialism and the creeping government hand in our economy. (In fact, did you know that before September 2008, 100% of the private economy was private? Or that since that time 51% has been taken over by the government, thanks to Obama?) She was one of the loudest voices on the right during the Health Care debate, decrying “handouts” and desperately attempting to rile up the Tea Party movement to squash the Democrats’ health care bill.

Just this last November, Bachmann held a Tea Party protest at the capital in Washington D.C., with the goal being to “kill socialized medicine.” (Funny aside about that protest:  turns out it was paid for with $14,000 of  taxpayer money. True story!) Ah, but with her other hand hidden behind her back, one of her family businesses has actively sought to participate in a government funded program to provide mental health care to low-income families. (Yes, Bachmann and Associates, Inc. is a mental health clinic. I will now pause to allow you to guffaw at the irony.)

Not that this should truly be seen as remarkable. It is true that Ms Bachmann is a favorite of the Tea Party movement; a group that inexplicably finds itself “taxed enough already” despite the fact that taxes have gone down for at least 95% of them; a group which purports to be gosh darn angry about bailouts and takeovers and freedom! Apparently, though, Tea Party members are just fine with the bailout of Michele Bachmann. After all, we’ve heard nary a peep out of any of them since the story broke in December that Ms Bachmann’s family has also been on the receiving end of a quarter-million dollars in agriculture subsidies. (That’s “handouts”, to you and me.)

The free market is sacrosanct, it seems, until it comes to padding the wallets of farmers, doctors and Tea Party Queens.

Not only is Bachmann’s hubby a mental health person, he is one of those who believe he can cure people of “teh ghey”. Yes folks, he gets paid for pseudo science too. Crazy eyes has a good challenger this year in Tarryl Clark, so she may be going by way of the dodo. What is bad, she actually believes the spew that comes out of her mouth. She’s “hot” so the righty men love her apparently. Her and $ister $arah, Our lady of perpetual victimhood are two peas in a pod, when it comes to grifting. We should just call them the Sisters Grifter, you know like the Brothers Grimm.

Come on now, it’s only socialism when the unwashed masses receive anything.

Along with spewing out crap, hypocrisy is Michele Bachmann’s stock in trade.

I read a blog tonight from some guy working under the umbrella of the New York Times that said close to the same thing about the rank and file Teabaggers. That a large number of them draw from Social Security and Medicare and how their new darling Rand Paul wants to end those programs.

It was Real Stuff Referendum By TIMOTHY EGAN:

“Now they have Rand Paul, with his libertarian heritage, to carry the banner. Dr. Paul has promised to fight for “liberty and limited government.”

If we take him at his word, he should move against the biggest obstacles to liberty and limited government in the federal budget: Social Security and Medicare.”
