That’s Hot! Winner of the best illusion of 2010
In this video, wooden balls roll up the slopes just as if they are pulled by a magnet. The behavior of the balls seems impossible, because it is against the gravity. The video is not a computer graphic, but a real scene. What is actually happening is that the orientations of the slopes are perceived oppositely, and hence the descending motion is misinterpreted as ascending motion. This illusion is remarkable in that it is generated by a three-dimensional solid object and physical motion, instead of a two-dimensional picture.
Other illusions in the contest can be viewed here. Strange Stuff!

Heavy.
Close to where I grew up, there is a pub called ‘The Crooked House’ it built over disused coal mines, subsidence happened the pub became very crooked. It has been stabilized and is now, as well as a pub and restaurant, a tourist attraction too. It is a very disorienting place to walk into and it can make you dizzy. The staff do tricks like rolling balls uphill and coins rolling up the bar.
THE CROOKED HOUSE
To say that Sisyphus’s wheels are spinning would be a humungous understatement.
Oh my peachtree!! You are so right Will…
Well Hell’s rebellion! How easy is that? I mean there is nothing puzzling about this, except balls do not roll uphill. I just tried to roll one of my German shepherd’s balls uphill and I don’t think he liked it. He gave me a very funny look and then peed on my shoes. This is all your fault Krell.
just don’t try rolling his balls into a joint. He’s really gonna get pissed.
LOL! True.
