Why Are People Pretending That Elena Kagen Is Not A Lesbian?

President Obama’s choice to replace Justice Stevens on the Supreme Court is United States Solicitor General and former Dean of Harvard Law School, Elena Kagen.

A smear campaign is underway to brand Kagen for having a Gay and Lesbian agenda which she would bring to Supreme Court. A recent comment on a NYT thread:

“Why are people pretending that Elena Kagan is not a lesbian. She’s not out but that does not change her sexual orientation. She has a female partner. This is an open secret at Harvard Law School among students and faculty. I cannot speak for the broader legal community yet, but I’d have to believe her professional colleagues know as much or more than the students and professors she works with. The real irony would be if she did not get the nomination because she is not open, when the conventional wisdom has always been she has tiptoed through life in the closet for the very sake of winning a confirmation.”

If she wants to talk about her sex life in public or tell the whole world to mind it’s own business. Her choice.

Well let’s see how little old Jeffie (Sessions) boy handles this one. He is an idiot so I imagine he will blunder around this one a good bit.

Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions is still pissed he couldn’t get his racist ass seated on the court. IMO he can go blow it out his ass.

I think it would make her a better candidate if she is a lesbian. It adds more diversity to the Court.

It doesn’t make a bit of difference to me. I have lots of lesbian friends and they are great people. Of course the Jesus Jumpers and the others on the Rabid Right would disagree.

I could see this getting ugly because there’s no acknowledgment up-front of her sexual orientation. But the odds are it’s gonna get ugly regardless.

People seem to forget only forty years ago a lesbian or homosexual would be either in jail a mental hospital. It was only due to a select number of doctors who have allowed this syndrome to be considered to be NOT a ‘mental illness’. THOSE doctors used probably the SAME ‘tack’ that this judge has taken and kept her mental illness SECRET in order to further their agenda which is to have their mental illness accepted by LAW.The recent push by the homosexuals and lesbians to allow crossdressers to be teachers is just another example of how far this agenda has been taken. Imho ..

    • Jess

      May 10, 2010 at 1:05 pm

Wait what. You cannot be serious with this thinking can you? Homosexual, lesbians, and cross dressers are not the same thing. You are aware of this right?

“The recent push by the homosexuals and lesbians to allow crossdressers to be teachers is just another example of how far this agenda has been taken.”

I need to see some links for this if you don’t mind. In case you are not up to par, lesbians are homosexuals. I know it gets really confusing and all, with the different kinds of bigotry that needs to be kept up, but it’s true. I know this because I have them in my own family. The horror, now I am going to have to explain to them they are not really homosexual, they are just lesbians. They are going to be really disappointed.

You seem to be taking the fact you are living with people who NORMALLY would be in jail or a mental hospital kind of lightly.
They have a very high rate of mental problems and these mental problems are COMMONLY kept secret from those close to them / IE: shiteating.
IF you think by calling me a bigot commonly used as an attack OR jokingly pointing out all genderbended people are homos’ .. you are sadly mistaken .. JUST like you are sadly mistaken living with people who are mentally ill is a joke.
        Imho ..

        • Jess

          May 10, 2010 at 1:42 pm

Can you point to where I called you a bigot anywhere? Um, no you can’t, so please do not put words in my mouth that were not there. I have this crazy thing I like to call tolerance for other peoples views. I know, it is crazy but it is me, whether or not I agree with them, I don’t tend to call them out. Oh and for the record. I don’t live with them, they manage quite nicely on their own, even though they have some invisible mental illness, according to some outdated psyhcological textbooks.

“I know it gets really confusing and all, with the different kinds of bigotry that needs to be kept up” THIS IS WHAT I SAID. Please do try and keep up or it will be most difficult to have conversation with you. kthx

It’s called inuendo and your ‘type’ seems to use it quite handily. IF you don’t LIKE the FACT that most likely the ‘people’ who DID ‘vote’ to have the mental illness of homosexuality ‘stricken from the books’ were in FACT closeted homosexuals JUST like the good judge seems to find so appealing .. then let me apologize for the inuendo in advance ..

Tom Hennessy, your real name wouldn’t happen to be “George Rekers”, would it?

Heterosexual people normally have no particular interest in the subject of homosexuality. If somebody displays an obsession with condemning it, that just makes everyone wonder if he’s trying to hide or deny something about himself, to himself.

                The thread is why.
Because they don’t want it to be readily KNOWN that the person going to BE one of the most influential people in the United States is actually flying a pink flag.
IF they / she finds nothing wrong with BEING of the shemale persuasion then she should just get married somewhere BEFORE she becomes a judge or maybe right after sorta as a honeymoon.

Tom, seriously, are you saying that being a homosexual is a mental illness?!?

    • Tom Hennessy

      May 10, 2010 at 12:44 pm

Yes homosexuality is hypogonadism taken to the extreme. Too many of the wrong hormones. This leads to an actual change in the brain. Contrary to popular opinion there are only two ‘forms’ in a species .. male OR female .. no ‘she-males’ or he-males.
IF it IS a she-male or he-male there is a **medical condition** and it is accompanied by in most cases by a **mental illness** commonly described as a ‘fetish’ of which coprophagia is. The slang phrase commonly used during the time being homosexual was a crime was ‘shiteater’. This was because it was / is KNOWN by doctors to BE ‘common’ ENOUGH to elicit the slang term to describe a homosexual as a shiteater / coprophagist.
Evidenced also by the HIGHLY expressed mental conditions found in these medically unfit people.
      Imho ..

So Tom, when did you realize you were attracted to women, was it your choice or were you born that way? Another thing, referring to other human beings as an “IT” is highly offensive and you should maybe rethink that terminology. IMHO

        • Tom Hennessy

          May 10, 2010 at 1:21 pm

I find it offensive you have taken the offensive when one uses the word .. it .. during a medical discussion. You seem to think the way you ‘feel’ has something to do with it ?
I can tell you there are MANY schizophrenic people who DO what they ‘feel’ like and IT ain’t pretty what they ‘feel’ like doing ..
          Dig .. ?

I don’t, I have seen them be mean to my own aunts like this, telling them they are an abomination to their faces. Telling them they should go take medication to be cured of the mental illness that makes them want to be with someone of same sex. Or the VERY worst one, they should be locked in a room to be raped and they would then like the dick instead of vagina. Some of these people are really vile towards homosexuals.

What I don’t understand is all the concern about sex. Being gay or straight, it is not all about “teh secks”. It is about companionship, intimacy, hopefully finding that partner/s that are compatible with you. Whether it is for one night or a lifetime. I hear some of these people and it all boils down to what you(generic) and I are doing in our bedrooms or the kitchen table, or on top of the washing machine on the spin cycle.

I say, they all need to get laid and how, to keep them out of the business of everyone elses business. That is just me though, I’m a freak.

I put this in the wrong reply spot earlier.

“She” can do what she wants, because last time SHE checked, females are allowed to be sexual beings and are allowed to speak up, whether or not it disturbs some peoples delicate sensibilities. In the past this may have worked for those with delicate sensibilities, it may still. It’s a safe link for anyone, even at work.

So, are heterosexual people who have sex with the lights on mentally ill? Having sex with the light on qualifies as porn, so people who do that sort of thing, under some bizarre rule, are mentally ill.

I’m still waiting for those links to the evidence that shows “The recent push by the homosexuals and lesbians to allow crossdressers to be teachers is just another example of how far this agenda has been taken” that you gave us earlier.

I swear this whole gay agenda thing is a mystery, because no one can ever produce the gay agenda when asked about it. Since you can’t or won’t post the links to the teachers thing, wanna try finding us the gay agenda, see if we need to be worried about it?

          • Infidel753

            May 10, 2010 at 8:35 pm

Actually, I’d encourage everyone to take a look at that link. The whole thing is complaints about Christians not being able to discriminate and act on their prejudices. Fifty years ago the same people would have been complaining about being denied the right to pull their kids out of classes where there was a black teacher.

The author also seems to think that transgender and cross-dresser mean the same thing, but it’s pretty much par for the course that these people don’t actually understand the things they’re prejudiced against.

          • Jess

            May 10, 2010 at 8:52 pm

I cannot take anyone seriously, that thinks if ENDA passes schools will have to next hour or so hire transgendered people. This bill will end discrimination period, dot, end of the story. That site is all about how those poor Christians are persecuted on a minute by minute basis for the most part. Links that are saying, Kagan has no judicial experience, while when Sotomayor was in the process she had too much experience to be a judge. Gotta make up your minds here folks, cannot have it both ways.

          • Jerry Critter

            May 10, 2010 at 9:02 pm

Here are another couple of links about ENDA here and here. ENDA does NOT force “every public school in America to hire transgendered teachers”. It doesn’t force anything. It simply does not allow them to discriminate against them. Businesses can still not hire them. They just need a legitimate reason to do so, same as refusing to hire you or me.

            • Tom Hennessy

              May 10, 2010 at 10:01 pm

A legimate reason for not hiring them. That is the most important part of it. You cannot say outright you believe your customers will find their presence repugnant and leave it at that . You cannot say I simply don’t want these twisted freaks teaching my kid ANYTHING period because they are nuts. IF you cannot say the above the hands are NOW tied.
So JUST like the site says it leaves all schools open to the FORCIBLE acceptance of those people.

              • Tom Hennessy

                May 11, 2010 at 12:06 pm

FORCIBLE acceptance of these people. THIS is PRECISELY what happened in the teachers union. During the late sixties and during the seventies the ‘long hair’ couldn’t get a job for love nor money NO MATTER if he had a degree or not sooo they went into teaching where they had no ability to **descriminate** against the long hair they wore so proudly. Well this led to a whole generation of teachers who really didn’t give a damn ABOUT teaching BECAUSE they didn’t actually have that inner spirit FOR teaching it was just a job. Sooo by bringing in rules where those with the BEST ‘marks’ as opposed to teaching ABILITY / love of teaching the union has brought about the destruction of our education system by employing people who don’t actually even WANT to be there it is another ‘factory job’ to pay for everything the family needs. If you see what I mean. It is actually a theory that makes sense. The REAL teacher who may not BE the ‘bright light’ or could be as an analogy Susan Boyle who **when given the chance** was the greatest teacher / singer EVER.
                Imho ..

                  May 11, 2010 at 12:28 pm

Oh well, here we go again. How many times have we heard this phrase — “these people”. It’s always about “these people”. Sometimes it is immigrants, sometimes blacks, sometimes gays. Pick your group. This is why we have anti-discrimination laws.

Listen to them yell if “these people” happened to be white.

                  • Tom Hennessy

                    May 11, 2010 at 12:38 pm

It seems you don’t SEE the ‘difference’ between ‘these people’ and blacks and whites and Croations and Arabs and Chinese and etc.
                    Homosexuality is a medical condition.
Homosexuals are NOT to attempt to ‘align themselves’ with other ‘racial’ discriminations and the like.
It is a good .. move .. I got to give them that.
It can be likened to a psychopath who can go through their whole life and noone ever would know the person was eating .. people.

Well Tom, I can see a difference between you and me. I think homosexuality is something you are born with, like being black or white or Croation or Arab or Chinese, etc. You think it is a “medical condition”. What happened? Did the catch the gay virus?

Sorry, I think we have reached an impasse.

Let’s say she is a lesbian. In a logical, reasonable world know one would make that an issue anymore than they would have made an issue of Alito’s heterosexual tendencies, unless he had done something like put pubes on a can of coke. However, this is not a logical, reasonable world. I’m sure we will get to hear about her sexual orientation ad naseum whether she is or isn’t a lesbian. It’s too bad anyone has to give a shit.

    • Tom Hennessy

      May 10, 2010 at 3:03 pm

You seem to forget the **evidence** that it were the doctors that had a ‘hand in’ KEEPING this medical condition AS a medical condition such as schizophrenia or psychotic behavior. IF a person EVIDENCED this behavior IN PUBLIC then the situation BECAME one of not ‘in control’ OF that mental behavior. In the case of schizophrenia the person was institutionalized or jailed in ANY ‘type’ of psychosis they were institutionalized or jailed. The same held for homosexuality UP TO forty years ago. UNTIL forty years ago it was considered ENOUGH of a ‘disorder’ to WARRANT an institutionalization or a jailing. In a short forty years they have gone from a CERTAIN jailing or institionalization AGREED to BY the doctors AND lawyers. Now it isn’t even considered to be a ‘disorder’ let alone one that DEMANDS a jailing or institutionalization. The doctors themselves agreed or took the initiative of BEING able to err on the side of caution as opposed to some “predominantly Christian law” ..
      Imho ..

Yeah dude, there’s EVIDENCE she may be gay. Wake up, Lawyer.Do you want kids to turn gay too ? If you’d had lesbian teachers in school you’d likely be lesbian now too. No family or scooter.

If I’d had lesbian or gay teachers when I was in school instead of wanting to fight like Little Red or Roberto Duran, I’d have wanted to marry them.

I know, it comes as a shocker to some of you, but I am certain you will get over that initial shock, that our “friends” on the other side of the aisle would do this. Finding heels to match isn’t as easy as it looks! Plus I had to shave.

Well, at least you are willing to accessorize. It is what keeps us apart from the animals, the ability to mix and match our ensembles. Oh you really should stop shaving and start using Nad’s all natural hair remover. It does good things for the legs.

As she is clearly a lesbian….in denial or staying ‘in’….and?

I suppose she isn’t helping herself ultimately. If she can’t admit the obvious how can she effectively ‘do’ such a high ranking job?

One lie leads to the next….

I am a bit late to the party, but I am in a beautiful feather boa.
I don’t think homosexuality is a disease and as long as the person does not involve me in their sexuality (unless I show an interest) why would I care. She seems to be a quality nominee.
I for one do not think it is my business what anyones sexual preference is and I appreciate her for not sharing.

THAT is the name of the book written by a man with schizophrenia. JUST because the person with mental illness BELIEVES what they DO do is normal doesn’t mean it is.
By saying the REASON homosexuality should be accepted is because “I feel very good when I practice it therefore it MUST be normal” is simply another title for another book by another person with a mental illness.
They refuse to accept the fact they ARE mentally ill and THAT is the REASON why everyone ELSE seems to be different acting.
      Imho ..
