Christians: Fags and atheists did it

In a stunning show of hypocrisy, a right-wing Christian group called Family Security Matters (FSM) is blaming gays [and atheists] for the 90,000 classified military documents that were leaked to Wikileaks.org.
Here are the facts:
Private First Class Bradley Manning is the U.S. Army Intelligence analyst accused of leaking the classified information to the WikiLeaks.org website. Manning is gay, and appears to be somewhat of an activist who objected strenuously to the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
There is some speculation that the Wikileaks incident was Private Manning’s revenge on the military for his displeasure with the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy and for discrimination he had personally experienced.
But from these facts and guesses, the Christian FSM editors have concluded that it was evil devil driven homosexuality [and atheism], rather than the terrible discrimination that gays face, that made Private Manning break the law.
So who is behind this discrimination and bigotry:

According to FSM,
The revelations of Manning’s openly pro-homosexual conduct suggest that a more liberal Department of Defense policy, in deference to the wishes of the Commander-in-Chief, had already been in effect and has now backfired in a big way. The result could be not only the loss of the lives of U.S. soldiers, as a result of the enemy understanding U.S. intelligence sources and methods, but damaged relations with Afghanistan and Pakistan and a possible U.S. military defeat in the region as a whole.
In other words, if we hadn’t let these queers into the military in the first place, this wouldn’t have happened.
(FSM isn’t the only Christian or right-wing organization doing this. Just google for “private manning wikileaks homosexual” and you’ll discover that the Christian right are jumping all over this.)
FSM is trying to blame the victim, and ignoring its own role in this crime and ignoring the culpability of all Christians who vilify and discriminate against gays.
If it turns out Private Manning is guilty, there is no excuse for his illegal behavior. But if there is blame to share, surely the Christians in the military and in our Congress are far more culpable than homosexuality itself. Without the discrimination that Private Manning faced, there would be no Wikileaks story today.
Private Manning didn’t ask to be gay, he just is.
Christians have a choice. They can choose to be compassionate and kind, a rare attribute indeed, or they can choose to be bigoted.
FSM’s article shows that they’ve made the shameful choice of bigotry, and this Wikileaks incident is just part of the collateral damage.

The Westboro Baptish Church desecrates the burials of fallen military personnel as well as the American flag, therefore, according to the Family Security Matters illogical idiots, all Baptists desecrate the military dead and the American flag.
Sounds like the same logic as they used to write those ignoramus “Freakanomics” books. They all skipped the causation vs correlation class…
Typical fucked up logic of simple minds: Manning is gay. Manning leaked top secret documents. All gays leak top secret documents. The folks at FSM and other fundamentalist organizations need to grow a brain. Maybe they are just like homosexuals in one respect, they were just born the way they are.

What he did was *illegal*, and contrary to your beliefs, there are excuses for illegal behavior. The entire American Revolution was illegal by definition. He has simply decided that his moral code was more important then the penal code. By your cowardly assumption that the government is always right, I know where you stand.
If you were given an order to kill when it was unnecessary, would you do it? It is illegal not to comply. At some point you must stand for what is right, and not what is in a dusty book no matter how many guns and guards threaten you. For I am responsible for my soul, not my government.
That being said, I do think he should be charged as you must stand the consequences for your actions.

As for FSM, I somehow missed the reference to Family Security Matters at the beginning and kept wondering what the Flying Spaghetti Monster had to do with all this. Someone should tell those jerks to stop sullying His Noodly Acronym.
I am continually amazed at the hypocrisy demonstrated by the Krazy Kristians.
I’m not. Their “supreme being” is supposed to be compassionate and loving, but exhibits the worst intolerance and capriciousness of all. The Christian God is the ultimate teabagger- as created in their image.
After reading The Evolution of God I’m not so sure that their god is supposed to be loving and compassionate. Maybe so, only when it suits them/him.
