American 58% Of Non-Voters Just Don’t Give A Rats Ass…Apparently

Read Time:3 Minute, 19 Second

With the numbers in a few lagging seats still being counted, the general numbers are already in, and according to the United States Election Project, There was an average of 218 Million eligible voters, out of whom an average of 42 % voted… which amounts to around 91 Million voters. This average number, if taken to mean a 50/50 split for each party, suggests that a mere average of about 45 Million voters, in effect made this election a victory for the Republican Party…a mere 21% of all eligible voters… a mere 21% steered the Country down this rabbit hole.

For those who are interested, the US Population is 308 Million people, which means that this 21% of eligible voters who were allowed to elect a Republican majority in the House is actually 14.6% of the US population….14.6%….a minuscule 14.6% of the US Population elected the House Majority…

I HAVE TO SAY…14.6% IS NOT A SHELLACKING BY ANY MEANS!!

The numbers further suggest that we have to “Thank” for this Republican victory…the remaining 58% of non-voters…the 127 million who did not vote. Of course “Thank” is not exactly the word this author wishes to use, but for want of a better word… we will go with “Thank.” Apparently most of these non-voters thought it was not worth their time to be Patriotic and do their duty…and vote, to keep this ship upright, so they let 21% win part of the Elections and Control of the House. That is indeed a shame and I might add…they need to keep quiet when they feel the strain of unemployment and hopelessness that we know will soon come, at the hands of the Republicans… because they caused this by not voting.

We now have a very rocky road to traverse in the coming future with the Republican hands itching to grab the reins of power. We all know of the purely crazy intentions the Republicans have, of trying to repeal Health Care so that our Seniors and our kids will be rendered helpless and uninsured, due to preexisting conditions or being over 21yrs old in the case of the kids. We also know of their intentions to Sabotage and bring the efforts of the Recovery to a halt so that the President will be seen to fail in his attempt to bring the Country back from the brink of disaster… causing them to win the 2012 elections.

The sad thing is that the same 21% of voters who voted for the Republicans are going to have their Seniors and kids affected as well by the Whacky Republican ideas. They did in fact vote against themselves and their Families’ interests, being none the wiser to this.

This is all part of a further attempt by Republicans to appease their Corporate masters who calls the tune for the Republicans to follow. The Republicans’ twisted plans can be thought of in terms of a broken down Taxi Cab in need of repairs. The mechanic wants $100 to repair the car, but in an attempt save money, the Republican owner tells the mechanic that he will not pay for repairs but will instead pay $20 storage fees per month to keep the car in the garage. The owner in the meantime loses $1000 per month, by the Taxi not being able to work and bring in an income, plus he has to find other means of transport which costs him money as well. In five months, of course, he also loses the $100 he is trying to save, with his short-sighted ideas. For further explanation…the Country is the Taxi Cab.

I’ve always said Americans demand entertainment above all else.

Holte and Jess are correct. Make election day a two day holiday with a national party. Beer. Strippers to please all orientations. Chuck a luck. All the stuff. The admission gate doubles as a voting booth.

The best part is the goody goody, self righteous bastards that always vote republican will stay home and act self righteous and bastardly because people are having. Tune in. Turn on. Turn out the vote!

Voting should be on a weekend, spread over 2 days, why have important elections on a working day for the vast majority of people. We have become used to instant results, right now, damn it wait a couple of days for the election results. If it is that important it should be worth waiting for.

21% of the country, that is so damn depressing to hear now. Old white republican people making decisions for the rest of us. Here’s my suggestion for what it is worth. Voting needs to be a national holiday, oh and we should be like Australia and make everyone vote as citizens when they can vote. At least I think it is Australia, they are fined a small amount if they don’t vote there. You would see such a swing to the left in this country, it would send the earth on a spin IMO.

One other thing that would make it easier for people, same day registration for voting and possibly mail in ballots for everyone like Oregon? does. These are just some suggestions but we know the pubbies won’t go for this. Know why? Well I’ll tell you as one of their activists and I forget his name right now said. Not everyone should vote, this way we are assured republicans win every time. I mean look at the intimidation at the polls this year. We keep hearing the dems, and ACORN and the new Black Panther party is doing all this(insert whatever here) when in actuality the pubbies are doing all they can to suppress the vote. Witness the guy that was telling Hispanics, don’t bother voting or leaflets being handed out in certain areas, telling people they needed to bring home ownership documents and Wednesday would be voting day. EVERY last one of these incidents happened in a minority district and it benefitted guess who, ayup republicans.

Teeluck, I do have your book on my pile to be read. Good so I am not as dumb as I look then, with my suggestion, when a noted author thinks the same way 🙂

The apathy of the American voter this cycle was astounding. No wonder the average older and more whiter voter was effective in attempts to “take the country back.”

Nice post!
