Farewell, Our Huckleberry Friend

Read Time:22 Second

William Blake Crump, better known as Blake Edwards, died this week at age 88. An actor and writer at first, he eventually made quite a name for himself as a director of hit movies. His best known work includes Experiment in Terror, Pink Panther comedies starring Peter Sellers, Days of Wine and Roses, Victor/Victoria and 10.  His very best film, in my opinion, was Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

He was a good one. He’s actually from here, my home town, Tulsa.

Yeah, I was gonna mention the Tulsa connection with you and Mo Hen and Krell in mind. But I opted to skip mentioning it for the sake of brevity. He was born in Tulsa but the family moved to California when he was still a wee child.

Nah, I still love the Pink Panthers with Peter Sellers. Pure genius. “10” was OK even if she couldn’t act.
