Tom Waits no longer – Hall of Fame beckons
Singer songwriter, Tom Waits, is not everybody’s cup of tea, but there again, Shakespeare can’t write and Picasso needs to learn how to draw. The raspy voiced singer, who’s voice was once described as “like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car,” is to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Waits has been named as one of the official 2011 inductees along with Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Dr John and Darlene Love. “I never really cared about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Waits said, “but now I am surprised to discover how much I do care.”
Waits has built up a distinctive musical persona. He has worked as a composer for movies and musical plays and as a supporting actor in films, including Down By Law and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his soundtrack work on One from the Heart.
Always more of a Blues or Jazz style performer, Rocks fans love him. Tom Waits Discography.

Shakespeare can’t write and Picasso can’t draw and Tom Waits . . .
Tom Waits’ music makes me want to score a couple 8s of heroin, two bottles of cheap whiskey, find me a really sick crack ho and hold up in some dirty hot and musty basement apartment with just a damp mattress somewhere till all the drugs and alcohol run out and I slit my wrists.
Nice to know you dig his music, you must if it inspires those thoughts. Job done Tom.
LOL LOL! Actually I don’t need music to do all of those things but it is a nice add-on 🙂
