Gloating Westboro threatens to quadruple protests

Read Time:1 Minute, 19 Second

The evil that is Westboro is celebrating the news of its supreme court win.  They have been vindicated by the highest court in the land.  It is OK to celebrate the funerals of America’s fallen heroes, breaking the hearts of family and friends once again.  I won’t pretend to know what drove this decision beyond the nonsense that is the interpretation of the Constitution but I suspect many will be celebrating when these monsters get their just desserts.  Here is the story in brief from Newser:

The Westboro Baptist Church reacted to its Supreme Court victory yesterday with its usual amount of tact and good grace. Gloating leaders of the Kansas-based extremist church vowed to quadruple the number of protests at military funerals now that the court has ruled such demonstrations are protected under the First Amendment, ABC News reports. Samuel Alito, the sole dissenting justice, “simply didn’t follow his oath—he’ll have to take that up with God,” a church spokeswoman said. “I very much appreciate the fact that I get to be the mouth of God in this matter,” she crowed.

Members believe military deaths are God’s retribution for America’s tolerance of homosexuality. Albert Snyder, who sued the church after they picketed the funeral of his son, a Marine, slammed the decision. “This court has no problem with the government sending our children over to these wars, sending them back in a body bag, and not even having enough respect for that dead soldier to be buried peacefully,” he told reporters. The most important question here is, clearly, what does Shirley Phelps look like naked?

My support for either side is dependent on this!!!

It’s now up to states to muzzle these fuckers. They can and do that already in several states without stepping on the right to free speech.

That the press consistently gives them air time only hurts us all. Phelps is a true PR man in that he knows how to maximize his exposure.

I am waiting for the other shoe to drop..you know Phelps will now go after Snyder for court costs..which are probably huge. Makes me quite sad to even think about that.

This is what they depend on for funding Dusty going to court. Half of the inbreeds are attorneys, I’m guessing the other half training to be. People sue them, then they countersue asking for money to keep them peddling the anti gay hate. That is why they keep doing this, because we are a nation of gay loving, whatever it is this week with them. They need to be relegated to the trash can of humanity like they deserve.

Meanwhile, across the pond, in jolly old sensible England. Courts there have stripped a Christian couple of their foster parents status for being anti gay.

I don’t know how I feel about the ruling in England. Fostering other people’s children isn’t a right and I am glad they won’t allow those folks to raise and indoctrinate children.
