Warning: Christianity can be dangerous to your health and well being

Keep in mind that Christianity is not just a collection of personal “beliefs,” it is also a collection of claims on which people often base their personal and professional decisions.  These can be decisions that affect the life style, freedom and well being of all Americans.
Here are six very important areas of your life that can be influenced by the nonsensical claims of Christianity:
  • Votes & elections are based on these claims
  • Laws are based on these claims
  • Medical treatments are based on these claims
  • Women’s rights are based on these claims
  • Views of others are based on these claims
  • What children are taught about history & science is based on these claims

Worried now?  You should be because Christianity is dangerous.  Let us know what you think about Christianity in the comments section.

I firmly believe any religion can be dangerous, Christianity is just one of them. I also believe Christianity as we know it today really has nothing to do with what God intended when in fact it really has nothing to do with Jesus. Take a good hard look at what goes on in churches today. By the way, church isn’t supposed to be someplace you go on a Sunday or any given day of the week. Everyone knows the rituals of so called church as we know it today, and that’s all it is, a ritual. Jesus meant for us as people to be the church. Unfortunately too many people who claim a heart for Jesus abuse it, therefore abusing him as well. Televangelists, people who run the church on a daily basis as just another moneymaking business venture and everything else that goes along with it…..and that’s about all it is anymore, just another way for a lot of people to get wealthy off some poor soul who’s only looking for some help, love, and acceptance and who only want’s to be accepted just for who they are-just the way God made them to be. I swear to you I’ve never even once felt the Holy Spirit in any church I’ve ever attended. Why? Too much chaos, noise, money grabbing, hypocrisy, gossiping, backstabbing, etc. and the list just keeps going, going, going…..kind of like the energizer bunny. Not to say there aren’t some decent people out there who want nothing more than to do some genuine good and want to Love and follow Jesus and share it with others. I believe there is. It’s those out there that are just arrogant enough to think they have one up on all the rest of us that use Christianity as an excuse to abuse and prey on all the rest of us including Jesus and every other thing that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit intended. I am still struggling to get away from some of the more well known people and forms of media they produce on a religious, spiritual level. Some of it’s ok. I do think it’s wise to be cautious about the message that it all really sends though and probably not quite all what Jesus himself intended. For all practical considerations I don’t really subscribe to, shall we say, Christianity or any of the rest of it. I don’t entirely agree with everything or necessarily even understand everything the Bible says. I do think we need to follow it as closely as we can as it applies to our own lives. My Dad used to say-10 different people, 10 different interpretations- or something to that effect. I know where my heart is and where the truth lies and so does HE…God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. Amen!

On top of your six, Christianity divided man from nature and set us on a 2000 year path of plunder in the name of “dominion”.

Like most people, they judge God based on what Christendom does. The Bible, and it’s message are dramatically different from what Christendom does and it’s understandable that people see the history of the so called “Christian” churches as negative. However, the turning away from the Bible (The Great Apostasy) was prophesied in the Bible by several of the apostles and is just another confirmation of the accuracy of the Bible. Read the Bible and conduct yourself according to it’s principles and forget about Christendom’s fake message, but keep in mind that neither God or the Bible is the problem, it’s the misuse of the Bible by Christendom that is. If people don’t follow the instruction manual for building something and it keeps coming out wrong,do you blame the manufacturer or the people that misuse the instruction manual ?? Find the people that are using the Bible correctly and then judge God’s word. But first you have to know what it says. Read the Bible and ignore Christendom……..

Ah, the confidence of ignorance. Please study the bible yourself before you ask others to. The reality of the text is likely to change your mind. Try books by reputable authors.

Until then you are just using the no true scotsman fallacy and that isn’t exactly admirable, you know?

The only issue I have with this post is: why stop at Christianity? I would include Muslims and Jews into the mix, they are all equally dogmatic, stubborn, self-righteous and patriarchal. The only difference is the Jews don’t go looking for converts.

Speaking for myself I love reading the other side of the story and I welcome the articles and submissions by the non-believers. I don’t see where anyone is getting anything from the other side. With a country of 90% Christians and most of them bible-banging Republicans I love seeing someone like Mike give it right back at them. Thanks Mike and keep it up!

Mike, I really do not mean to offend old friend, but are you at war with the Christians? I realize there are more of those who publicly claim those beliefs than who publicly drink from your well but you are preaching to the choir over here man.

No, not on this Mike. One of my complaints with the Christians is that they are constantly throwing their beliefs in my face. they are always right and everyone else is wrong. I just don’t need it from the other side either.

I am with you 100% Christianity is responsible for more horrific bad than good. From the murder of millions of men, women and children in the name of god in ancient times, to the raping and molestation of children in our modern day. There’s so many more examples, but that warrants an entire post in itself.
