Quotes by crime boss Rupert Murdoch
Head of criminal media empire
Rupert Murdoch
admits he leads by example
The cracks in the empire of media criminal, Rupert Murdoch, has barely gotten lip service here in the U.S. A sound bite here, a few column inches there, Fox News seemed more than reticent, I wonder why? An honest publisher would never close a 168 year-old “profitable” Sunday newspaper with just a few days notice, only a lying, cheating publisher would see it as a good move.
Today the News of the World published it’s final edition, so Rupert Murdoch is hoping the storm surrounding his British interests will die down. He will have some help in calming the outrage, he still owns two major daily’s, the shockingly bad Sun the more sedate Times and the weekly Sunday Times. Murdoch is also trying to gain a controlling interest in BSkyB the major satellite broadcaster in Britain which is a major cash cow. BSkyB owns the rights to major sports in the U.K. and has a news arm called Sky News which is very Fox News-ish.
The last front page of a disgraced newspaper
Rupert Murdoch actually said these things
So you did know about the phone hacking?
“I try to keep in touch with the details . . . I also look at the product daily. That doesn’t mean you interfere, but it’s important occasionally to show the ability to be involved. It shows you understand what’s happening.”
So you led the News of the World by example?
“In motivating people, you’ve got to engage their minds and their hearts. I motivate people, I hope, by example – and perhaps by excitement, by having productive ideas to make others feel involved.”
But what sort of reputation?
“Our reputation is more important than the last hundred million dollars.”
This one is my favorite
“The buck stops with the guy who signs the checks.”
What committees there are you’d be the chair of every one
“You can’t build a strong corporation with a lot of committees and a board that has to be consulted every turn. You have to be able to make decisions on your own.”
The views expressed by writers and contributors to MadMikesAmerica are not necessarily the editorial position of the publisher. Except, when it comes to Rupert Murdoch and Fox News.
I have a dream. Faux news will be sold by pennies on the dollar after Murdoch is jailed for racketeering, treason, slander, and libel.
Then, the network will be bought out by a consortium of progressive organizations such as Truth Out, People for The American Way, Move On, etc.
After all rabid right wingers are dismissed, new commentators will provide the news: Rachel Maddow, Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy, and Thom Hartmann, just to name a few.
I can dream, can’t I?
It’s a dream I share Dorothy.
