Budget battle shows Republican madness

Never forget the mission of a Republican: Serve thy fat cat corporate donors and serve thyself by doing so.

republicans want armageddon

That’s exactly what they’re doing and they don’t care if they take down Middle America while trying to accomplish those twisted goals.  The Republican greed monsters know that success means taking out the president so they can rule the country unmolested by those pesky Democrats and they will do whatever it takes to get that done, even if it means destroying the fabric of America.

Let’s face it, if left to their own devices these mental midgets would have Jesus in the schools and working behind the desks in government.  They would enrich their wealthy sponsors, and wage war wherever the arms manufacturers could profit the most.

We should make no mistake, however, they are dangerous.  Between their money and the passion of the Hard Right Tea Partiers and the Hard Left Obama Haters they just may pull it off.

Read this story summary from the Guardian:

One thing we’ve learned from the debt ceiling debate: Republicans are no longer behaving rationally. They’ve been revealed as a “dysfunctional” party “whose conservative wing is behaving less like a mainstream electoral force than an ultra-left sect being advised by a petulant 2-year-old,” writes Gary Younge in the Guardian. “It is simply not economically feasible to cut the US deficit without raising taxes.”

We got to this point through tax cuts, wars, and a financial crisis, and the GOP “aims to put the burden of these military follies and that economic mismanagement on the backs of those who have suffered the most from them: the poor.” President Obama has spoken of “Armageddon” if the debt ceiling isn’t raised, and indeed, the consequences would be dire: Interest rates could soar, the dollar could sink, and we could see “a sudden return to global slump.” “The four horsemen are saddling up, with Reagan’s presumptive heirs ready to ride them into the sunset”—though it’s worth noting that in 1987, it was Reagan himself who warned of the dangers of default.

republican armageddon

Please tell us what you think?  Are the Republicans more concerned about getting Obama out of office or do they care more about the American people?

It scares me to think about how bad it would be if a Republican captured the WH and the majority in the Senate.
