Wikileaks parodies Mastercard and it’s PRICELESS

Wikileaks has done more for transparency than Saran Wrap

At first blush I disapproved of Wikileaks and its mission, thinking that they were some sort of subversive organization hell bent on destroying America.  Then I stepped back, took a deep breath, and realized that it’s nice to be in the sunshine.

The fact is Wikileaks has done more for transparency than Saran Wrap.  They have exposed the barbarism that sometimes takes place in the military and the hypocrisy that takes place daily in both the public and private sector.  It is no wonder that powerful forces have gathered to destroy its founder, Julian Assange.  So, imagine my delight when my friend Paul sent me this little piece of fun for Independence Day:

Say what you will about Julian Assange and WikiLeaks, the organization definitely seems to have a sense of humor. This clever advertising spoof of a popular credit card commercial highlights the fact that many major banks and online payment companies continue to withhold over fifteen million dollars in international donations that have already been made to WikiLeaks. In the ad a disembodied voice recites a list of various operating expenses and their costs, then it ominously asks what is the value of:

“…watching the world change as a result of your work? Priceless. There are some people who don’t like change; for everyone else, there’s WikiLeaks.”

It’s funny, because it is true.

Many thanks to the folks at Ecolocalizer for this gem!

I love this guy, so what can I say? Funny in a bittersweet kind of way.
