Child rapist Warren Jeffs to run LDS church from prison

Convicted child rapist Warren Jeffs, a super Mormon, plans on running his wacky church from prison

The Mormons will tell you that polygamy has been banned but that’s only what they tell you.  The Church of the Latter Day Saints, a ridiculous name, is Mormon, and some of their “flock” practice polygamy, as evidenced by the picture of just a few of Warren Jeffs’ “wives.”

Unfortunately there’s no keeping a bad Mormon down, because the child molesting “prophet” of a Fundamentalist LDS sect plans on running his Church of the Loons behind bars.

Here’s the story:

Warren Jeffs will spend the rest of his life in prison, but that’s not likely to effect his ability to lead his Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, say former church members and expert. Followers of Jeffs’ polygamist cult are likely to still revere him as a prophet, despite evidence presented in the Texas case that he had sex with girls from the sect as young as 12. Jeffs, 55, was sentenced by a Texas jury yesterday and will not be eligible for parole until he is at least 100 years old.

“The vast majority are just not going to leave,” a polygamy historian said. There was no mass exodus in 2007 after Jeffs’ conviction on Utah sex assault charges. As he spent almost five years in various jails, Jeffs continued to spiritually direct the faith, counsel followers, and lead Sunday services by phone. It is unlikely church members even know much about the Texas case and the evidence against Jeffs, a former FLDS member and victim from the 2007 Utah case said. He has banned television and all books except scripture. He has counseled members against reading newspapers or using the Internet. (Click to read more on Jeffs’ case and trial.)

Just to clarify, calling the FLDS “Mormons” or confusing them with the LDS would be like calling a Baptist a Catholic since they broke off of that church. Even though the names are very similar, the FLDS are not known as Mormons, comprise about 10,000 members and broke off the mainstream Mormon church about 100 years ago. The LDS church has more than 14 million members. The two religions have some common roots but their current practices and traditions are very different.

The Church is called “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” and Warren Jeffs is not a member of the church.

FLDS is not LDS… know your facts before you write about something you know nothing about.

It is disheartening that so many people would trade off their own God-given sensabilities to follow false prophets.
