Gay student pressured to leave Christian school
Those Christians overwhelm us with their tolerance and kindness as, in the same breath, they march onward in their quest to persecute those who do not agree with their twisted myths
Each day that passes the Christians give the rest of us reason not to be Christian. Is it no wonder the Atheists are gaining allies in this country? The Christians continue to berate and attack those who prefer choice over religious mandates and their hypocrisy is stunning beyond description as they quote the Bible, a book, of all things, as justification for their actions.
It should come as no surprise that I’m an Atheist, just like a couple of others over here, and like them, I’m bloody proud of it.
Here’s the story summary:
The Master’s School could tolerate the fact that Rachel Aviles wasn’t Christian, but gay? That was apparently too much for the Connecticut private school to bear. Though she was a model student in most every way, administrators of the Christian school told Aviles to withdraw or face expulsion once her sexual orientation was known to them, writes Susan Campbell in the Hartford Courant. The teen came out when she and a group of female friends were questioned by the administration after pretending to be married to one another on a class trip.
The school’s headmaster declined to discuss the details of the incident. Aviles, now a senior at a nearby school, made clear in an interview she didn’t want her former school to look bad. “Just because you’ve been wronged doesn’t mean you have the right to wrong back,” she said. Adds the Courant‘s Campbell: “Oh! The irony!” Aviles is “turning the other cheek. That sounds downright Christian, doesn’t it?”

Why does it always seem the Atheists are more Christian than the Christians? Could it have anything to do with the fact that to become an Atheist you will have to have put a lot of thought into God, religion and the effects of belief, as opposed to unquestioning, unthinking, dogmatic belivers? Atheists who do not follow the ‘religion’ but are smart enough to understand that the ‘principles’ are worthy. Do unto others is an excellent example-it actually works better without religion.
