Who’s up on the Sunday Talk Shows?

Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

The blame game over the congressional supercommittee’s failure to cut the ballooning federal deficit will continue to play out on this Sunday’s television talk shows, with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and anti-tax activist Grover Norquist squaring off on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Schumer is chairman of the Democratic Policy Committee, and Norquist is president of Americans for Tax Reform.

Supercommittee member Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) will make his case on ABC’s “This Week.” Other guests include former Secretary of State Colin Powell; Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates; and actor Matt Damon, who is promoting water.org with co-founder Gary White.

Another supercommittee member, Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), is on “Fox News Sunday,” along with his Democratic counterpart, Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin.

Additionally, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is the latest in the Fox series of Sunday interviews with the contenders for the Republican presidential nomination.

On CBS, “Face the Nation” has a literary lineup, featuring “The Help” author Kathryn Sockett; “Boomerang” author Michael Lewis; Steve Jobs biographer Walter Isaacson; and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who wrote “No Higher Honor.”

Rice is also on CNN’s “State of the Union,” along with another GOP presidential candidate, Herman Cain, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza.

Bloomberg TV’s “Political Capital” has former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer, a Republican who is making a long-shot bid for president, as well as Center for American Progress President Neera Tanden.

Also Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), co-chairman of the Progressive Caucus, was interviewed on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” by POLITICO’s Scott Wong and NPR’s David Welna.

Finally, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) helps TV One’s “Washington Watch” review the recent dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington.

MadMike’sAmerica thanks Zack Hale of Politico for the weekly Sunday talk  show tip sheet.
