Chris Christie and Haley Barbour: The Unholy Duo
I happened to read the March 11 article in NJ.com entitled, “Key GOP post can help Christie’s ambitions.” There was a statement by Gov. Chris Christie that bothers me greatly. He said, “If it wasn’t for (former Mississippi Gov.) Haley Barbour, I wouldn’t be governor of New Jersey. A guy like that who was with you when not only wasn’t there anyone on the bandwagon, there wasn’t a bandwagon, you remain incredibly indebted to somebody like that.”
I would like to ask Christie how he plans to repay his indebtedness to Barbour.
Barbour pardoned four murderers and hundreds of felons in January before he left office.
He pardoned David Gatlin, who killed his wife and shot a friend, and had been turned down for parole two weeks before the pardon.
He pardoned Joseph Ozment, who murdered a man in 1994 and when the man crawled towards him for help, he shot him in the head.
He pardoned Charles Hooker, serving a life sentence for murder since 1992.
Barbour also pardoned rapists and sexual predators who now can’t be listed on sexual predator lists. They can move next to schools, and even our homes.
Is Christie is going to repay his indebtedness to Barbour if he is named a vice-presidential candidate this year? Or, is he going to wait until he runs for president in 2016? Will he make Barbour an ambassador, or give him a cabinet job?
Perhaps Christie needs to talk to the families who have been victimized twice, once by the crime, and a second time with the pardons.
Now, Christie is victimizing the families a third time by thanking Barbour publicly for helping him become governor of New Jersey.

Chris Cristie is another Republican blowhard.
Barbour made his state, and the entire country less safe with his actions. Chris Christie made a big mistake praising Barbour. Great article!
