But can you speak Hitchcockian Tony?

The movie is a love story about his relationship with his wife Alma Reville, played by Helen Mirren. The trials and tribulations and the making of his seminal movie Psycho provide the back story. A release date for Hitchcock is, as of yet, unannounced.

Hitchcock also stars Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh and James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins. Alfred Hitchcock and his films have millions of fans worldwide. No doubt, when it finally appears in the theaters, lots of interested fans and critics will be keen to approve, or not.

The film Psycho was released in 1960. It starred Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, John Gavin, and Janet Leigh. The screenplay by Joseph Stefano is based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Robert Bloch. The novel was loosely inspired by the crimes of Wisconsin murderer and grave robber Ed Gein.
The film depicts the encounter between a secretary, Marion Crane (Leigh), who goes to a secluded motel after embezzling money from her employer, and the motel’s disturbed owner and manager, Norman Bates (Perkins), and the aftermath of their encounter.

Psycho initially received mixed reviews, but outstanding box office returns prompted a re-review which was overwhelmingly positive and led to four Academy Award nominations. Psycho is now considered one of Hitchcock’s best films and is highly praised as a work of cinematic art by international critics. It is often ranked among the greatest films of all time. In 1992, the film was selected to be preserved by the Library of Congress at the National Film Registry.

Although Hopkins continued in theatre (most notably at the National Theatre as Lambert Le Roux in Pravda by David Hare and Howard Brenton and as Antony in Antony and Cleopatra opposite Judi Dench as well as in the Broadway production of Peter Shaffer’s Equus, directed by John Dexter) he gradually moved away from it to become more established as a television and film actor. .
