Pastor Curtis Knapp: The Government Should Kill All Gays and Lesbians

Read Time:4 Minute, 26 Second

There is a point at which rational thought flies out the window, and all one is left with is screaming, swearing and hitting things. I truly believed I had reached that point with Pastor Charles “Concentration Camps for the LGBT” Worley, but I was wrong. The hateful shit heads calling themselves “Men of God” obviously have other plans for the millions of us who, every single day, believe it just can‘t get much worse.

Cue Pastor Curtis Knapp, of the New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas. Pastor Knapp gave a rousing sermon this past Sunday, all about homosexuality. Now, you know right now that sermon, from a guy named Curtis, at a Baptist church in Kansas, was not loving or kind or CHRISTIAN at all. But I bet you aren’t ready for what Pastor Knapp told his congregation should be done to the LGBT community.

“Terrorists are dangerous, the economy is a real and present danger. But there is simply nothing other than the holocaust of the unborn which imperils the safety of our country or places our people in jeopardy as does the leader of the Western world publicly raising his fist at the heavens and declaring that the bedrock institution of society, ordained of God and meant to be protected by the state, is little more than a convention of convenience with the children of Sodom to transform the meaning of something, which is precious to Jesus Christ, and a living picture of his love for the church into a legally protected justification for perversion and a vehicle of hatred aimed directly at that love.”

And stop for a moment. Take a breath, because that is, other than a chapter in “Ulysses” by James Joyce, the longest run-on sentence in history. I’d like to take a moment and introduce people to the definition of “holocaust” from The Free Dictionary online:

Great destruction resulting in the extensive loss of life, especially by fire.

Mike Huckabee got his ass handed to him by a group of rabbis and the ADL for comparing not only abortion to the Holocaust, but comparing the national DEBT to the Holocaust as well. I guess “holocaust” is a word fundamentalists like to use, but, in the words of Inigo Montoya, it doesn’t mean what they think it means.

Back to Pastor Knapp. He of course quoted Leviticus…well, the only law in Leviticus fundies follow, and then launched into another personal tirade. Buckle up.

“They should be put to death. Oh, so you’re saying we should go out and start killing them-no. I’m saying the government should. They won’t, but they should. You say ‘Oh I can’t believe you, you’re horrible. You’re a backwards Neanderthal of a person.’ Is that what you’re calling scripture? Is God a Neanderthal, backwards in his morality? Is it his word or not? If it’s his word, he commanded it. It’s his idea, not mine. And I’m not ashamed of it.”

Yes, you read that correctly. Pastor Curtis Knapp, who I am sure eats shellfish and if he has any daughters, has not sold them into marriage and/or slavery, probably does not shove his wife into the garden shed 3-5 days out the month and owns a lot of polyester, is calling for the government to kill LGBTs, because God commands it. Alright then. Pastor Quinn continued to speak, obviously not quite ready to give up his own battle for the “most hateful false Christian in America this week” award.

“He said put them to death. Shall the church drag them in? No, I’m not saying that. The church has not been given the power of the sort, the government has. But the government ought to (kill them). You got a better idea? A better idea than God?”

Also, during his sermon, Pastor Knapp spoke about Israel killing homosexuals and how homosexuals are not dainty victims. I couldn’t listen anymore. I probably missed a few tidbits, but that’s okay, you get the gist.

This all comes back to, of course, “traditional marriage.” According to the bible, the book Pastor Knapp uses to justify the rounding up and government sponsored slaughter of the entire LGBT community, traditional marriage usually involves a few wives (or hundreds if you’re David or Solomon), slaves, concubines, and often a female relative. Really? That’s what Pastors Worley and Knapp want to laud over America? Polygamy, slavery, servitude, incest and misogyny?

I can’t wait to see what dregs of society pop up behind a pulpit this weekend! Yeah, actually, I could wait forever. These people, these hateful bigots, picking and choosing what parts of the bible to use in order to justify the deaths of millions of people, are evil. There’s nothing more to them. Pure evil. These are not men of God. They do not know God, they do not have any idea how to be a true Christian. Reverend Oliver White gets it. These bastards haven’t a clue.

Thanks to Raw Story for some of the quotes. The rest came from the actual sermon, featured on Sermon Audio.com.

This just goes to prove my OOPS! theory. Their god didn’t trust these people with the Old Testament. He knew they would get it wrong.

Oh those Krazy Kristians. For the life of me I just cannot understand how anyone, unless they were just as mean as this critter, could embrace Jesus (pronounced Hey Zeuss) but that’s just what his “flock” more aptly termed “pack,” did. Religion…the opiate of the masses and fuel for the foolish….

That’s the yard guy. Jaysus is the white, gun toting Conservative deity who loved the rich and kicked the poor.
