The Right Wing Hate Machine

This week, two minority women were heckled by RNC convention attendees whose party has spent the past 3.5 years pandering to racists, bigots and xenophobes, while exploiting minority groups for personal, political gain.

Republican Nation Committee charmain Reince Priebus has FAILED to show leadership since he was seated after Michael Steele’s absence, and extinguish the hate and vitriol of today’s Republican right-wing, all while ignoring the issue and/or jumping on the opportunity to fallaciously deflect and put the blame on President Obama and everyone else on the political Left just so his party can stay relevant.

The Republican Party does, in fact, have a legacy in putting forward efforts to foundate Civil Rights in this country for minorities. But if there is anything that the last several years has shown since the ascension of America’s first African-American Democratic President of the United States, it is that today’s Republican Party, and its current leaders, no longer represent the legacy their party once stood for, essentially handing off their legacy to the Democratic Party as the party of choice for Civil Rights and equality as major party issues on its platform across MANY communities and sub-cultures in this country.

Today’s GOP has all but skewed its priorities to lead for the sake of maintaining political relevance by laying in bed with Wall Street’s most filthiest rich of the rich, and corrupting the national dialogue to win control of what has now become the LOWEST and most POORLY performing Congress in the history of our Legislative Branch. Today’s Republican leaders have thrown sensible dialogue by the wayside for the sake of defending ideologies built on dishonesty, cronyism, greed, hypocrisy, bigotry and misogyny, with coded rhetoric aimed at further undermining minorities with heinous laws attacking the democratic process, and a womans’ legal right to confide with her doctor about her health on a personal and private level.

The Right-wing of America abetts vitriol and hate. As a result, Americans are still economically struggling on many levels, and also have to deal with an augmentation of gun violence and other hate crimes targeting African Americans, Latinos, Asians, Muslims, Sikhs, Whites, the LGBT community, children, and other innocent lives. And even as politicians on all sides have yet to come to an active, legislative consensus to reduce violence in America, the most and loudest noise coming from the religious right, conservative radio, and Right-wing pundits all in defense of clinging to their guns and their religion, aren’t being acknowledged by the very people responsible for helping drive better, peaceful and progressive dialogue.

John Boehner has failed to lead has House Speaker since he won in 2010. And Reince Preibus has failed to lead since he became Chairman of the RNC.

And as with the succession of an official Republican Presidential nominee, Mitt Romney has failed to show the very leadership required of Priebus and Boehner.

The rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer as America struggles to hold on to its recovery. And your President, Barack Obama, deemed responsible for a recession he never caused even before he was inaugurated, has done and continues to do what needs to be done to help maintain our economic potential to keep us on course.

It is because of an agenda-driven Republican party set since inauguration day to destroy Barack Obama’s presidency, and the GOP/Tea Party victories in 2010, that that very potential of ours now hangs in the balance, with the threat of a party funded by greedy, hateful, spiteful and bigoted political opportunists who care for nothing more than to undo what you helped achieve for the first time in this country’s history in 2008.

Say what you will about President Obama. But if you are letting Republicans influence your vote, or if you are jaded by our political two-party spectrum that you have refused to vote at all this year, despite being able to, then you deserve to suffer even more than what this Republican party has caused you, or whatever you feel President Obama hasn’t done for you.

In fact, if you began feeling this way at all before 2010…if I may say so myself, President Obama hasn’t had your help since you fucked him over with a bullshit Republican Congress.

But reality, however, if you are at all complaining when you could have done something, don’t. You did it to yourself.

If you want, you can change that. And that decision is entirely up to you.

It always has been.

Hold John Boehner, Reince Priebus, Mitt Romney and today’s fake-Republican party accountable this November and in future elections, and give President Barack Obama a second term, and a Congress that will accompany him, and listen to your needs.

Because the Republican Party that used to listen to people like you is now a party whose members do not deserve to be elected anything, to anywhere, for anyone.

That is just a fact.

Lee Bahir Golden III

I'm a small business owner and a native New Yorker. And since 2008, in the course of my busy life, the country's political environment and the national dialogue has turned into one of many priorities I share, as it continues to affect us everyday on one level or another. And as such, I am proud to have been and continue to be not only an Obama supporter, but a supporter of the causes and leaders I need to endorse in order to help my country achieve the greatness that it is, in my opinion, still capable of. Not just as a liberal, but as an American who has just as much at stake as the next American.

Benghazi, S**t happens! Pitiful Luddites the GOP have become. You guys will end up as a footnote in history like the Tea party idiots that hijacked you. Signing pledges to a bean counting lobbyist, forsaking your constituency and behaving like spoiled intransigent children.
…The House of Reprehensible’s is a better description for whats left of the Congress.

I am totally amazed at your lack of recognition that the nation is changing all around you and you have just missed the train …Again!

We’re tired of religious crazees, conservative talk radio pinheads, TV pundits, and Troglodytes of all bents who try to spread ridiculous dogma in this century? …You missed your chance by about 1100 years.

Lee, thanks for a well written, well articulated post. I think you captured the essence of what has been happening since the last presidential election although you left out Mitch McConnell.

Here is a new poll from WaPo about perceptions as far as those all inclusive republicans go.

Funniest and truest comment comes from the one leg of the three legged stool that is Lindsey Graham. We don’t have enough angry white men to keep going like this. Oh ya think ham biscuits, you think angry white men is the way to keep the GoOpers relevant? I know some angry white men and trust me, they will not vote republicans Lindsey.

Thank you Mike!

I’ve tried off and on to listen to the dittoheads at the RNC. But I do count on the fact that we will hear more coherence at the DNC than what we’ve heard out of Florida. And I highly doubt we’ll have the same amount of fourth graders in the room (no offense to anyone with children in grade school).

The lies are coming fast and furious at the RNC, and no one seems a bit put off by the fact checkers. What a bunch of nutters they are, these republicans.

The Republicans are relishing the lies being spread by their leaders in Tampa this week. It’s amazing the lengths they will go to for the purpose of self-aggrandizement.
