Catholic priest blames violence against women on women

Oh those crazy Catholics! Once again a collared celibate has opened his kiss free lips without first considering the consequences of his words. An Italian Jesus Jumper has stepped on his vagina free penis by taking women to task, blaming their mode of dress for rape and domestic violence, a vicious crime that has reached legendary proportions in sunny Italy:
(Newser) Domestic violence is on the rise in Italy, with 120 women killed this year—up a third over last year, reports the Daily Beast. The UN Human Rights Council and women’s advocates have been pushing leaders to get a handle on the problem, but a Catholic priest’s Christmas message might have more luck, for all the wrong reasons. A sample of Father Piero Corsi’s written comments:
- “Is it possible that men have turned randomly crazy all of a sudden? We don’t believe so. The point is that more and more women provoke, fall into arrogance, believe they are too independent and exacerbate tensions. They trigger the worst instincts, leading to violence and sexual abuse. They should consider self-examination and ask the question: did we ask for it?”
- “How often do we see girls and even mature women walking on the streets in provocative and tight clothing?”
The letter has provoked condemnation and outrage across Italy, writes the Daily Beast’s Barbie Latza Nadeau, and the Vatican itself was trying to distance itself from Corsi’s comments. One potential upside: The letter is provoking a long-overdue national conversation on the issue.
Clearly this fool has embarrassed Mother Church, and perhaps it’s time King Benedict considered doing away with the ludicrous celibacy rule, so that priests can have a better understanding of the real world. On a side note, priests are raping nuns on a regular basis. Is this about how they dress?

Being Catholic, I still see the insanity of what goes on in the Catholic Church (as in most religions). I can say, first hand, that this priest would love to see all nuns back in habits and quaffs on their heads tightly hiding anything womanly like hair. I’m sure he also would have protested Vatican Two in the 60’s that allowed women religious to be free of their traditional and binding garb and also allowed them to step foot on an all man’s altar.
FFS. I see the republicans are exporting their crazy to the world of the church. Oh wait. Well as a not man, I would like to say sorry for being all self sufficient, arrogant and triggering all you menzez worst instincts. I could say I will do better next year but I know I am lying and so do you, who have ever read a comment from me. We wimmin just have the power to do all manner of things it seems, we just cannot get to a place we can use it for good.
I thought before you could be given superpowers, you had to take an oath or something to “use them only for good.” Are you saying I’ve had another myth shattered?
Well as a not man, I have been born with them super vagina powers. My just being female sends some men into a tizzy to where I need to watch when I go out, watch what I wear in case I am asking for it you know. Oh yeah, we wimmin totally have these magical powers that just make some men unable to control themselves. so in short, ayup another myth busted.
All the more reason to allow priests to marry. A wife and daughter makes one far more empathetic to women being mistreated than someone who has vowed to stay away.

“Embarrassed the mother church?” How can they be any more humiliated than they are now? The continuing molestations of children, the absurd stance on condoms, and the brainwashing of people by threats and empty promises. The RCC has a history of evil and nothing one deranged priest says can do much to “add or to detract.”
The church was actually embarrassed and has tried to distance themselves from the good father’s comments. Like you I was somewhat nonplussed at hearing the Church of Rome was “embarrassed.”
