Carnival cruise no circus as another ship crippled by crap

Read Time:1 Minute, 8 Second

Here we go again! Yet another Carnival Cruise Ship, the Dream, has turned into a nightmare, as human waste fills the bathrooms, leaks into the hallways, and offers a smell like none your nose has enjoyed.

The crippled critter is docked at St. Maarten in the eastern Caribbean and according to CNN, passengers aren’t even allowed ashore: “The cruise director is giving passengers very limited information and tons of empty promises. What was supposed to take (an) hour has turned into 7-plus hours.”

Adds another passenger: “There’s human waste all over the floor in some of the bathrooms and they’re overflowing.” What’s more, “the elevators have not been working.”

The ship’s PA system announced that staff were working hard to fix the generators, but moments later, passengers were told the problem was far worse than had been thought. The Coast Guard hasn’t gotten a complaint, but it couldn’t do much anyway, since the 5,000-capacity ship is out of the Coast Guard’s jurisdiction which had been set to depart yesterday around 5pm.

I was about 8 or 9 at the time. The tide around possibly Ibetha? Majorca? I forget where I was, started dragging me out to sea. A fishing boat gave me a tow back in.

My parents seemed slightly annoyed that I’d made it back.

I was a thoroughly poisonous little child by the way 😉

Poisonous? I was called “mouthy” not only because I talked a lot but because when someone would say something stupid and wrong because they thought it was clever to get children to believe nonsense, I’d say, “That’s dumb! Why do you believe that?”

I have grown more sophisticated with age. Now I don’t say “dumb” but “bullshit”.

I once went on a Pedalow…a thing that has floats and pedals and a small propeller.

I’m not sure that’s really relevant though – I was in the sea with it though!

Did you visit any interesting ports? Jamaica? Tobago? the Bahamas?

Damn! A friend and her family may be on that ship. Fingers crossed that they are not.

Ok, why again would the coast guard need to do anything other than rescue people? Carnival already got winger welfare once, with the last bailout of their company, so why are they not hiring at their own cost people to make certain it does not happen again, instead of putting the cost onto American taxpayer? Yeah that pisses me right off.

It’s really very simple. Anything they can get the taxpayers to cover, improves their profit margin. In other words – greed.

I have followed Carnival cruise ships on the ocean and sailed through miles of trash dumped overboard on a daily basis. I know some is inevitable with that many tourists aboard but some was clearly done by crew and most was of an illegal nature.

Cruises, yes. Carnival, never.

Trivia time! (I am a font of useless information) How about the difference between Flotsam and Jetsam? Be ready, this is awesome!

Flotsam is debris that was washed up from either the water itself or floated off from some shoreline.

Jetsam is anything floating that came off a boat.

Personally, I have seen things like lines, light bulbs, toys, (both children’s and “adult” toys) furniture, tennis balls and underwear. All of it hundreds of miles from land.

Yes, you are all welcome for the gift of this priceless and vital information.
