Scientists: Is massive object at edge of space a UFO?

Read Time:1 Minute, 58 Second

This is actually a report from August of 2011 that seems to have just disappeared.  Since CNN has not retracted the story as a mistake, one would have to infer that that the story simply fell off their radar.  Curiously why wasn’t it picked up by anyone else in the mainstream media?   Is it possible the Government has a forced media blackout on the subject. In either case could the presence of this object, tentatively identified as a dwarf star, explain the increasing number of comets, asteroids and meteors?

There has been some speculation that the newly discovered object is not a new planet, or a new star, but a UFO, and the cover story was quickly created to satisfy curious astronomers.  While this may well sound like science fiction, dismissing the possibility of intelligent, advanced life on other planets is typical of human arrogance, and threatens the species.

The renegade loner has been tentatively identified as a brown dwarf  believed to be up to five times the size of Jupiter.  Scientists say such giants could be to blame for mass extinctions that occur here every 26 million years.  The star, if indeed it is a star, is  nicknamed Nemesis by NASA scientists and would be basically invisibleas it only emits infrared light and is incredibly distant.  Nemesis is believed to orbit our solar system at 25,000 times the distance of the Earth to the Sun.

NASA boffins say that as it spins through the galaxy, its gravitational pull drags icy bodies out of the Oort Cloud — a vast sphere of rock and dust twice as far away as Nemesis, which could account for the ever increasing number of asteroids and meteorites either striking or passing close to earth in 2013.  These “snowballs” are thrown towards Earth as comets, causing devastation similar to the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.

NASA hopes to more clearly find and identify Nemesis using a new heat-seeking telescope that began scanning the skies in January 2011.  When asked if the object could in fact be a UFO, Dr. Raymond Twist of the Space Institute told us that “anything’s possible.”

If it is an UFO it is a UFO, Unidentified Flying Object. Meaning just that. A big rock would qualify.

Any ‘intelligences’ out there are almost certainly far more advanced than we are so why the hell would they want to come here to our lunatic asylum?

Unless they wanted to take over…..oh eck…I’ll be in the cellar…

For other intelligences to even find us, they would have to be technologically far in advance of us and for more lucky. Considering the vastness of the universe, it is unlikely that no other intelligent life forms would not exist.

The probability of them contacting us is also very unlikely. The possibility that they would be of a form that we could even recognize as like or we to them is also worth considering. The “life as we know it” concept is incredibly arrogant and short-sighted.

The friendly or hostile choices are also too limiting. More likely is the indifferent choice. They would first have to be able it recognize us as life and something more advanced than termites for them to be even slightly interested. Were they capable of exploring even our own galaxy, assuming they were from here, would make them either astoundingly long-lived or capable of FTL travel. If they were from a different galaxy, the problems would be compounded unimaginably.

My view is, it’s possible, but unlikely to happen – ever.

There are 2 prevailing views about ETs. 1)They’re super technologically advanced and come here to kill us. 2) They’re super technologically advanced and come here to be peaceful – the “Close Encounters” P.O.V.

My fantasy has always been, They’re super technologically advanced and they come here, and think we’re wicked cool. They dig our women, love our fashion sense, think teevee is awesome, and freak out over ’69 Pontiac GTOs. They’re hip to Rock, find Rap a bit annoying but still like it, and turn out to be huge fans of Big Band and Delta Blues. They love Scorsese, but consider Spielberg a bit preachy. They can’t get enough Clint Eastwood, especially the “Man With No Name” stuff. They agree that Fords eat Chevys, but they far prefer Kawasakis over Harleys – better tech.

And they totally flip out over cheesecake. They think it’s magic because it’s cheese and it’s cake.

I don’t think it could be a UFO because the government couldn’t keep it secret so we would know about it. Too bad.

Or it could be that improved detection systems and more attention being given to detecting Near Earth Objects (NEOs) makes it appear that there are more of them.

In a similar manner, the almost instant reporting of earthquakes, tornadoes, and other natural events cause them to appear to be more frequent. The disaster fans and “end times” hopefuls will latch onto anything to support their dreams.
