Bible Banging Hobby Lobby Gets Supreme Court Review on ObamaCare

The Bible Bangers are at again, working hard to use Jesus to dismantle the laws of the land by filing a petition with the US Supreme Court to have the birth control provisions removed, because Jesus doesn’t like that sort of thing.

(Newser) ObamaCare is headed to the Supreme Court, but it’s a case about the specifics of coverage rather than a broader fight on the program itself. More than 40 companies have sued because they object on religious grounds to providing their employees with birth control, as the new law stipulates. Today, the court decided to take up the case of an Oklahoma arts-and-crafts chain called Hobby Lobby, reports the AP. The family that runs Hobby Lobby describes it as a “biblically founded business” and says the mandate that private, for-profit employers provide contraceptive coverage violates its religious beliefs.

“We’ve said all along that there’s no basis for picking out one corporation, the non-profit versus the profit-making one, and saying that one can exercise religion and the other can’t,” says an attorney representing the company, as per MSNBC. But a lawyer for the National Women’s Law Center sees it differently: “This would say to a low-wage worker that she has to pay out of pocket when women all around the country are getting it without a co-pay, just because her boss doesn’t think her using birth control is right.” Expect arguments in March and a ruling in June, reports CNN.

This case is a big, big deal. Scalia is already on record as saying that a person cannot ignore the law on the basis of religion. If he backs off on this there will be a can of worms opened up that throw out just about every civil right we have.

Is there something that says consistency is a requirement for any government position? That would amaze and astound me.

I think what Hobby Lobby should do is have more than one checkout aisle open. I stopped going there cause it took forever to pay for my Christian approved stuff. And if an extra gal was on the register she wouldn’t be out having sex and in need of birth control.

And you people decry my conservative logic. Another problem solved thanks to me and the spirit of Ronald Reagan.

You’re welcome.

So are you going to get the distributing rights for the burquas and hijabs in these parts Joe? If so, I don’t want an all black one, I want something colorful something like the coat of many colors. Oh and don’t price them too high, or we won’t buy them to wear when we go outside with a male relative in tow at all times.

Crude offering my ass. That is exactly how we need to fight these assholes that want control of when we start families, calling them out. Don’t know about you but I don’t want anyone telling me when I can take medication to prevent me from having kids. You know those of us that take bc are sluts and we cannot have women enjoying the sex act, only the men are allowed that according to these misogynists. What is sad is some women who take bc have to take it to regulate mentrual cycles or other wimmin issues and that may be stopped. They were given an inch during the healthcare debate and now they want to take the mile. Fuck that, leave my slut pills alone dammit.

Would it be possible for these people to show us exactly where in the babble jesus speaks out against contraception?

Maybe a compromise could be reached if employees were permitted to speak their own opinions on whether they would like this coverage? No wait? There are two problems with that. First, with religion, no one is ever permitted to speak their own mind. Next, the real issue for these babble bastards is they don’t want to spend the money, no matter what their employees want and deserve. Nor does it matter what the law is, either.

If the law provided funds for bible study for everyone, christian, Jew, Muslim, atheist, and anyone. That would be applauded.
