Jim Crow Is Alive and Well In Mississippi

Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

In Mississippi, Republicans put into effect some of the harshest voting restrictions since Jim Crow days. There has never been a problem of voters voting fraudulently in Mississippi. But you can’t be too careful about the future.

A recent election may decide whether there will be a new United States Senator from Mississippi. It will result in a runoff. It is the first election with the tough new voter restrictions.

On election night, after hours, a Republican official in the Tea Party movement found an unlocked door to the building where the ballots are stored. She was alone with those ballots for hours. Nobody else was in the building.

The campaign activist locked alone with all those ballots did call for help after several hours. And officials do say the ballots were secure. So all is well.

Changes that keep keep minority voters and the elderly from voting for the other side are necessary. If voting rights are violated, that’s just the price you have to pay. No voter fraud has been discovered, but we have to be alert for the future.

The campaign activist locked alone with the ballots? Let’s not make a big deal over every little thing.

Election fraud is everywhere. The bigger shame is that there is still such racial hatred in the South. In fact, isn’t hatred of what is different from “us” everywhere. In my life time, I would like to see true reverence/respect for what makes us unique from each other. Oh well, I’ll have to surround myself with people that at least try to believe that in the current years. Oh, did I mention I live in Birmingham, Alabama?

Carol, the way things are going in Alabama you might get to see the dogs and fire hoses brought back out. Just kidding. I don’t think even Governor Bentley is that stupid. 🙂

Election fraud in Mississippi? I am gobsmacked! Who would have thought it?

The southerners are often bleating about “traditional values” so what happened to their tradition of gentlemanly manners and fair competition? It seems that cherry picking isn’t limited to the babble, is it?

Texas still believes in family values. Why they believe in it so much they have inserted into their platform that they will allow a woman to choose to devote her life to her family and children. Nope, I wish I was making it up. They recognize her sacrifice but to hell with the woman that chooses another path which includes no kids.

2-5 Family Values NSL We support the affirmation of traditional Judeo-Christian family
values and oppose the continued assault on those values. We
strongly support a women’s right to choose to devote her life to
her family and children. We recognize her sacrifice in the face of
the assault on the family. Additionally, we recognize the
challenges of single parents and applaud their efforts in creating a
stable and moral home.

I thought there were 3 of them locked in the building and the sheriff said no one from his org let them in like they had said happened. By the way, three people get locked in a building that work for a senatorial candidate who went nasty and got pictures of his challenger’s wife in a home and what not one cell phone between them they could have used to call someone and say hey, we’re locked in this building can someone come free us. GoOpers, always blaming the left for voter fraud and so far the only cases that have been found are of their side doing it and doing it in blatant ways. Yeah, nothing to see here people move on and ignore what your eyes are seeing and trust us.

Thanks, Jess.

You are quite right about the number of people who were in the building after hours. The story has deepened after the recording of this account. One of the three is a high ranking campaign official.

It strikes me as ironic that the state with one of the harshest voter suppression laws, ostensibly to ensure election integrity, would turn out to be a textbook example of how to cast a cloud over an election in the dead of night. No IDs could have kept it from happening.
