Fox News is the National Enquirer of the television world, but instead of concentrating on stories of Elvis sightings, they concentrate on equally ridiculous stories about the democrats and everyone else who isn’t a racist, homophobe, or religious nut-job.

Fox News contributor Juan Williams on Sunday took Republicans to task for allegedly flip-flopping on the prisoner swap that freed Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Williams accused some Republicans of pooh-poohing the deal despite having previously clamored for Bergdahl’s release. And pushing back against suggestions that Bergdahl did not deserve a celebratory reception, Williams said it was up to the military to decide, “not us sitting here on this panel and not all the political people on the Republican side who have flip-flopped — flip-flopped in the most craven way.” —Jon Terbush

It’s important to remember what Rupert Murdoch knows all too well. An Elvis siting sells “papers.” But turning politics into a nonstop Elvis siting not only sells papers, but it also affects voter behavior, influences public policy, and coerces economic, social and political behavior. A Murdock-style Elvis siting is very much like insider-trading on the evolution of our reality.
