Republicans: Peddlers of Hate

Read Time:3 Minute, 31 Second

The refusal of the GOP and their supporters to acknowledge facts surrounding budget priorities and their responsibilities as the fiscal agents over the last 14 years, is just astounding. The only time that the congress was controlled by Democrats was 4 years, so spare me the defensive outrage. Since President Obama’s election, the GOP shifted from an attitude of indifference about unpaid for special favors that supported their priorities, to one that was focused on “Deficit Panic”. Remember the comments of Vice President Cheney, who in July of 2012 urged the Republicans in Congress, as they were approaching the ‘Fiscal Cliff,’ to not cut funding to the military and our national defense.

tea+party+racist+signs

Cheney subscribed to the philosophy of those ‘who spent money like drunken sailors on leave in a whorehouse’ during his two terms in office and claimed that “Reagan proved that deficits don’t matter…..”  Don’t forget this is the same man who urged House Republicans to support huge tax cuts, fighting two wars and expanding Medicare benefits that resulted in most of today’s fiscal mess and then there was Bush’s bail out of Wall Street. The House Republicans supported and praised tax cuts for the wealthy, two credit cards wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the Medicare expansion and voted to enact those three things. Amazing how they forget their own actions, let alone the fact that they voted to support the Budget Sequestration that was a huge part of the government shutdown. Mostly, they count on our amnesia as voters and taxpayers.

By the way, funding for the Secret Service, embassies and consulates that the GOP is constantly screaming about with their catch-all battle cry, “Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi!” was cut by the GOP Controlled Congress in 2010.  They say they are outraged over the “Secret Service Failures”. They want us to believe that they actually care about our President, our First Lady, or his innocent children. Sorry, but this is hard to swallow when all we have heard is the constant stoking of disrespect, hatred and accusations against the most threatened president of modern times and history by the GOP and their Propaganda Machine, FOX News.

In case you have forgotten, Sarah Palin and her supporters have fomented and aided in the creation of American Terrorists that will take power with the power of “lead”. Don’t forget Sharon Angles second amendment remedies references when she was running for the Senate in Nevada. She kept saying if things did not turn out the way she wanted in the election outcome, they should use “second amendment remedies”. Sarah Palin and her supporters will never be able to walk away from these things. They are irresponsible women without a scintilla of integrity and deserve to be excoriated for their constant and hateful rhetoric since entering the National political arena in 2008.

She and her group of supporters have embraced a motto that calls people to embrace “bullets instead of ballots” if elections don’t go their way.  Whenever this happens, it is extremely rare that Republican leadership speaks out against this behavior.  Their silence is tacit approval. Under Crocodile Condolence, one need only look at the unbelievable responses from their followers and then further to that fact, they never admonish their followers for hurling fallacious accusations against the President or his supporters.  If it had been people of color that had made the many statements that these people and their media counterparts have made over the many years, we all know what actions would been taken to shut this down.

It was only a year or so ago that Darrell Issa was claiming that President Obama is the most corrupt president in the history of of our country. Naturally, we are asked to believe that our country doesn’t have a problem with race, or that the increase of threats against our president is not about the color of his skin.  Forgive me if I am cynical and chalk this up to “Election Season Crocodile Tears”.

I am sorry. I just have come to hate stupid people. That’s it. I can not help myself. I just hate them. It does not even take any energy any more. I just hate them.

58 million people voted for a presidential ticket hat included Sarah Palin. You underestimate our powers of pandering and motivating the morons to do as we please Bill.

Joe, I absolutely don’t under-estimate the skills that the GOP has to do the things you listed. Thanks for reading and acknowledging that I wrote a credible viewpoint. Have a good week.

The Republicans still operate on a premise similar to that of men toward women of the 19th century toward women. “keep them bare foot and pregnant and they want have time to keep up with what’s going on and they will just do what we say.” While that is still true in some areas of the country, mostly in South, where they have been able to gerrymander districts, the demographics are slowly turning against them. Very soon that will not help them and the Republicans of today will actually become the minorities in the country.

Bill, I sure hope you are right! I just want people to stop behaving out of anger and fear. I think you are right about ‘keeping the electorate dumb and overworked so that they don’t have time to pay attention to the corruption going on around them.

An interesting article, but this is our culture. One side works for the people while the other work against and in their own interests. Most of the voting public often have a hard time understanding the difference. Sad when you think about it, and even sadder when you think that in just a couple of months those “peddlers of hate” might just control the entire congress. Great headline by the way.

Rachael, I see many of your points and often wonder if your view is more the case and simply impossible to breach. The editor deserves the credit for the title! 🙂

Well said Mr. Hagstrom, and you are so right! 🙂 What never ceases to amaze me is how many millions of people vote for hate and against self-interest. Just amazes me.

In a moment of honesty from a republican I freely admit all you have said is true Margarita. And I also freely admit it’s why we win elections. We love our bigots and idiots and religious zealots. They’re angry and they vote because of it because they believe we’re angry at the things that anger them. Reality is we don’t care about whatever angers them as long as they are easily manipulated to vote for us and against what would truly benefit them.

Our thanks to the members of the middle class for voting for us despite our opposition to Social Security and Medicare and OSHA and anything else that makes their lives safer and more secure. Besides deficits, President Reagan and Mr. Cheney also proved facts don’t matter. Just tell em whatever crap they want to hear and these days remind the throng that no matter what President Obama says, does or tries to do, he’s still a “Kenyan Muslim Socialist who wants to destroy American and impregnate your white daughter or sell her to ISIS thugs.” Even though his actions which have resulted in the killing of thousands of Muslims and Black Africans say different.

I completely agree with you and Midhael! It is sad that things have become this deplorable. I keep tbelieving that the ‘silent majority’ stop their silence and say, “Enough! You people don’t represent us!”
