Of Purpose and Penis-Religion vs Science

Read Time:1 Minute, 25 Second

Fortunately for the rational thinkers among us, most well-educated, intelligent young people aren’t embracing religion like they did a few decades ago. Millions of people in the developed world have left churches and religion behind them, while discovering the wonders of science.

religion

Belief in an unseen deity makes little sense to thoughtful folk, and there have been numerous studies showing that, statistically speaking, intelligence levels and Christian religiosity are inversely proportional.

Those who ascribe to Christianity inevitably claim facts about belief aren’t necessary. They tell people to rely on their intuition or feelings, and to use the bible as their spiritual and personal guide. So some Christians “know in their hearts” that their God exists, abortion is a sin, and homosexuality is an abomination, and that’s enough for them. Their assumptions, of course, are ill founded, because their intuitive feelings are nothing more than what they’ve been told to believe, usually since childhood.

Happily, Atheists are free to find meaning however they choose, without getting caught up in a priest or preacher’s agenda. When we accept there’s no God, we’re not throwing anything away, but discovering ourselves, and once we do that we can break free from corporate control,  and that’s cathartic!

If you’re brave enough to let go, you’ll think more clearly, be less opinionated, more accepting of others, and gentler on yourself. You’ll discover that God, the bible and preachers are holding you back, because open mindedness and rational thinking are far superior. Cognitive dissonance will disappear, real self-esteem improve, you’ll have more time and money, and you’ll probably find more real friends.

Remember, science rules, not mythology.

The religious people are much like those Ferguson protesters. Many of the things they do, think and believe tend to step on the feelings, and disrupt the lives of those not involved. This makes them no friends, only enemies.
