Bernie Sanders Predicts Bernie Sanders Will Win White House And Why He Won’t

Read Time:2 Minute, 28 Second

Sorry Bernie, you’re a great guy who is saying all the right things but you don’t stand a snowball’s chance of winning this election. To begin with, most prognosticators don’t consider either Trump or Sanders to be serious threats for the nomination.

While the latter is indeed rising in the polls, he continues to trail Clinton in almost all polls by very wide margins. So absent unforeseen circumstances, their effect is likely to be in shifting the tone and topics of the conversation.

In point of fact, Sanders can only help Democrats. To start with, nearly every single policy position in Bernie Sanders’ quiver is publicly popular. There’s no way in which the Democratic Party being branded with the rhetoric of Bernie Sanders is going to hurt its prospects with the general election voters. It might hurt with corporate and Wall Street donors, but then that’s what the whole battle for the soul of the Party is all about. Frankly, if Democrats lose the general election in 2016 it won’t have been for lack of funding, but rather weakness of message.

From ABC News:

Sen. Bernie Sanders, the Vermont Independent who has risen quickly in the polls for the 2016 Democratic nomination, predicted with confidence Sunday that he’ll secure the nomination and be elected president next year.

“We are going to win New Hampshire. We’re going to win Iowa, and I think we’re going to win the Democratic nomination, and I think we’re going to win the presidency,” Sanders told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on “This Week.”

Sanders said his economic message targeting the middle class would help him secure the nomination.

“The American people are sick and tired of seeing the disappearance of the great middle class of this country,” he said. “They’re sick and tired of working longer hours for low wages while at the same time 99 percent of all new income generated is going to the top one percent.”

When asked about a recent poll showing his low support among non-white voters, Sanders told ABC News he has spent many years fighting for civil rights and added he believed his economic message would resonate with minority communities.

“I have a long history in fighting for civil rights. I understand that many people in the African-American community may not understand that,” he said.

“Given the disparity that we’re seeing in income and wealth in this country, it applies even more to the African-American community and to the Hispanic community. And what we are going to do is make a major outreach effort to those communities, let people know my background, let people know my record, and I think we’re going to do just fine in those communities,” Sanders added.

I’m strongly supporting Bernie Sanders. He is the real deal.

As I’m sure I’ve written here before (and on every other venue including Twitter and multiple times in my blog) I will not vote for Hillary Clinton under any circumstances. She lacks the ability to handle the job. She’ll fold in the campaign and/or the debates, too.

We need to be careful who we nominate lest we had the election to the Republicans.

I notice today there is a growing “Draft Biden” movement. We have plenty of time to get this right.

Hillary 2016, although I would love Bernie too, since he and I have the same uber liberal leanings. If I were any more left I think I would be an anarchist 🙂 I just got polled by someone from the GoOper party, to ask my first second and third choice if the election was held today. Trump, Santorum and Ben Carson were my choices and I will work hard to make it Trump because he speaks for me with his anti everything agenda. Kept them on the phone for a while, so they wouldn’t have time to get a real life GoOper giving them information.

Hillary 2016! Bernie is a nice guy but he’s too old. He will be 75 on election day.

My stance has not changed a bit! I’m still voting for Bernie in the primary, and I will vote for the Democratic winner in the national presidential election! I realize that his chances in the Democratic primary a really poor, but if those who believe in him don’t vote for him, then we lack courage at best! And if, after the primary, he decides to run a third-party platform, then he is not the man that I think he is! Whoever gets the Democratic nomination gets my vote in the general election!
