The Young Turks Take On Trump’s Bizarre Plan To Force Refugees To Wear Special ID Badges

Cenk Uygur and John Iadarola of The Young Turks discuss why people should be aware of Donald Trump’s plans for Syrian refugees. Trump explained that security checks and identification badges might be necessary to distinguish Muslims. According to an interview with Yahoo, Trump said he wouldn’t rule out tracking Muslims and giving them special identification.
“That is a fascist dictator speaking there,” Iadarola says. ”Are we at the beginning of fascism…well that is what Trump just said he would like to do,” Uygur explains, “That’s exactly what the fascists did in Germany where they separated out people based on religion, they had a national database, and you had to have the right papers. And then they started putting badges on you.”
But it’s not just Trump. A Conservative senator from Rhode Island, Elaine Morgan, suggested building a camp for refugees. Uygur and Iadarola warn that these ideas by Conservatives are hauntingly similar to German fascists and how they treated Jews.
