Bill Clinton Is a Sleeping Giant Donald Trump Should Let Lie

Read Time:2 Minute, 9 Second

repubs-msgThis primary election cycle, at least for the Republicans, has been one of the most childish, unprofessional, and nastiest that has ever been. It is getting to the point that even some Republicans

are shaking their heads when asked if they will support Donald Trump should he win the nomination. He has pushed all of the other candidates so far to the right that they are still, just barely, in the emergency lane area before being completely off the highway.

Mr. Trump is still forgetting a piece of the puzzle should Hillary become the Democratic nominee. That piece is Bill Clinton who has stayed back from the fray during the nominating ruckus. He forgets that Bill Clinton does not have to prove anything to anyone because the Republicans have tried it and he is still the most popular former president we have.

After watching Chris Matthews special on “Citizen Trump” the other night, The Donald may have a few things to worry about. Even the loud mouthed, far right nuts may dig in their heels at some of his dealings over the years. His affiliation with gambling and his out and proud affair with Marla Maples may push the evangelicals away from him.

When he gets on a debate stage with Hillary, head to head on specific issues, she will carve him into little pieces because of his actual lack of knowledge of what he can actually do as president. The Clintons are probably only one of a handful of people who can pick up a phone and personally call the heads states from other countries.

When Donald Trump says he is going to build a wall along the Mexican border he is forgetting that it will have to be paid for, and the only way he is going to get Mexico to pay for it will be to ruin that trade relationship which is much larger than most people think it is. When he says he is going to do a lot of his great ideas he forgets that there is one third of the government that can tell him know and not worry about his bluster and that is the Supreme Court.

More than anything else he should be concerned that in a presidential campaign Bill Clinton will step outquote-i-fear-all-we-have-done-is-to-awaken-a-sleeping-giant-and-fill-him-with-a-terrible-resolve-isoroku-yamamoto-32-22-16 of the shadows and into the light if necessary. My personal belief is that Bill Clinton is still a force to be reckoned with in this campaign and it would be far better to let that sleeping giant lie.

There are no people more battle scarred over the last 25 years by the Republicans and they have weathered everything thrown at the and managed to stay on top. Bill is staying out if the nominating process but he will be out in full force in the general election. Neither will be shy about calling him out on his promises that they will. In head to head debates with on two cadidates there there will be plenty of time to press him on details. That will see him get his March orders from the Clintons.bluster and insults will no suffice fir through grnrtal elrctore. That work the same way on Cruz also.

I missed the special on Trump Bill, but heard it was really good. Like Mary Lynn I also hope President Clinton takes Herr Trump to the woodshed.
