Resist Trump: A Dangerous, Sociopathic, Fascistic, Racist Misanthrope

I don’t harbor hate, nor do I blame anyone for election 2016. What happened, happened. The largest flood of voters in our history turned out, each doing what he or she thought right.
In the nation that invented self-rule, typically, only 10% of us who can vote, do. My President – Obama – garnered a 30% turnout and the whole world was stunned. Enough of you thought this year was so significant – so important – that 46% of you, braved the weather, the long lines, the New Jim Crow voting restrictions, and cast your ballot. And I don’t care for whom you cast that ballot.

But somehow, a dangerous Sociopathic, Fascistic, Racist misanthrope took the office – and took the nation by the throat. He’s a month away from the Inauguration, and already we’re seeing far too many signs of his corruption, his separatism, his partisanship, and his contempt for us and for America. We’ve seen him ignore age-old ethics requirements. We’ve seen him laugh in the face of time-worn traditions. We’ve seen him select office-holders whose only concern is the destruction of the offices they hold. We’ve seen him profiteer off diplomatic relationships, decades in the making. We’ve seen him shun longtime allies, and play footsie with longtime foes.

What needs to happen now, is we need to stop fighting amongst ourselves. We need to stop searching for whom to blame. We need to become one nation against Trump. Now, it is true that many actually support Trump. But I believe they will come to learn that he conned them – that he never had any intention of delivering on the promises he made them. I believe they too, will come to see that this is a “Bucket List” Presidency – a Presidency fabricated by a man who in his own mind has already done everything else, and merely seeks the bragging rights. When that happens, they too will join us.
Our work is cut out for us. Our Job, three-fold: First and foremost is to #RESIST. Resist at all cost. Resist as we lose Civil Liberties. Resist as corporations and Christianity overwhelm the Supreme Court. Resist as they are hauling us off to the Concentration Camps. Because all this and so much more will happen regardless of us. Nothing changes for us. We resist, so the Universe knows we did not knuckle under. One question often asked of me, in my role as a Holocaust Historian, is “why didn’t the Jews fight back?” Well, the answer is, they did. I would be glad to go into that subject in depth at a later date – but the point is moot. The world – history itself – believes they did not. Don’t let this happen to our movement. When our grandchildren are learning about this dark time, in whatever will pass for their schools, don’t let their teachers say, “The Progressives, the Democrats, and the Liberals marched into the gas chambers without a fight.”

Our second desperate task is to punish Congress in 2018. Notice I didn’t say, “clean out” Congress, or “take back the majority” in Congress. I said PUNISH. We need to go through Congress like a Colorado wildfire, in a take-no-prisoners Kamikaze assault. Leaving a Marne of carcasses in our wake. The only requirement for a candidate need be, “I will fight Trump.” Tell us – no-PROVE to us – that you will stand against Trump, and you’re in.
Finally, we need to find that one candidate that we can all stand behind. Perhaps an older, wiser Bernie, running this time as an Independent. Perhaps another. But we need to find that one person who represents US. Who REPRESENTS the American people – after all, that’s the very definition of the job, is it not? And in 2020, we – the American people – one people – one nation – can overthrow the Fascist orange pig-rectum, and take our country back from the gangsters and corporatists.

A very inspiring article but it will likely fall on deaf ears for many people. The wolves, not foxes, are now in the hen house and they are about to lock the door so there is no escape. The school yard bully and his gang are now in control of not just the school yard but the whole damn school. There will a raid on the pantries of every classroom and the cafeteria and when they are through we will be close to a barren landscape of what was once an inspiring meadow. The one percenters will control everything but the last one tenth of one percent. The price of goods will rise on everything will go up due to trade wars and wages will be depressed. It will all be someone else’s fault because Donald Trump never makes mistakes. The police will become far more militarized than they ever have been and anyone who is not a trump supporter will be in danger. Remember the ode that starts, “First they came for the jews…” It is about to happen here.

Social media, at least on the Left, is flooded with “he’s going to be impeached” nonsense, without a scrap of actual evidence. I despise, as Mike calls him the “short-fingered vulgarian” but as long as the house is overwhelmingly populated by far right republicans there will be no impeachment.
This is true, Lyndon. It’s just another of the litany of false hopes that this election has been built on, and riddled with.
