Trump Pick For National Communications Director ‘ Rampantly’ Plagiarized Book
(NEWSER) – Amid accusations that Monica Crowley, Donald Trump’s pick for National Security Council communications director, plagiarized rampantly in her 2012 book, What the (Bleep) Just Happened?, publisher HarperCollins says it’s trying to figure out, well, what the bleep happened.
A CNN KFile investigation found more than 50 instances of plagiarism, including passages from news articles, fellow conservative columnists—including Rich Lowry, Michelle Malkin, and Karl Rove—think tanks, and even Wikipedia.
A HarperCollins rep tells the AP that the publisher has no comment, but is “looking into the matter.” Team Trump is standing by its woman, saying in a statement that “any attempt to discredit Monica is nothing more than a politically motivated attack that seeks to distract from the real issues facing this country.”
